if you dont sign anyone you have that money to go to work in the offseason the following year. we arent 1 piece away from the superbowl. we dont need to fill all our needs now. id rather make sound decision and pay guys what they are worth so that we dont end up with cap problems again in a few years. spending recklessly is what got us into a mess idzik had to clean up in the first place. we can fill some of these holes in the draft and we will certainly sign some free agents this season as well. i dont see why everyone is so willing to throw huge money at average players

Eric decker is not a weapon. and no one is forgetting his 2 very average seasons prior to peyton manning. We would have weapons drafting evans and ebron without also adding decker. decker is an average #2 WR. he isnt going to make a big impact with geno smith throwing him the ball and being the focus of opposing defenses. it would be an insanely horrible move to give him 7-8M per year. id be all for spending that money on a guy who could be a low lever #1. but certainly not a guy like decker who isnt even a big play threat
