    is weeden really a "veteran"?

he was a young guy who was thrown in early and sucked for the most part. he is like the same or worse then sanchez.

id make a push for kolb, been around longer and has been a backup

What is with all the Decker talk? You think the Jets will actually land him?

He's already left the building and on the plane to his next destination dude. Probably told Idzid to stick his low ball offer where the sun don't shine.

Winning teams can low ball because players understand they have a chance to get a ring, New coaches can low ball and build through the draft because the atleast have three years to execute a plan. Rex Ryan not so much. and Idzik has only two more years to build the team through the draft. I hope he can do it.

Who the hell, as a "Jets source," would spew that right now during the negotiations?

    he's better than a marginal #2, he's a top tier #2

also if we cut sanchez we'd still have over $40 million in cap space after signing decker. i think we can address those other positions

Sounds like Manish is back with his infamous "sources" inside the Jets organization.

i hate weeden, but cutting sanchez gives us 8.5M in cap space.

even if he is a top tier #2, that isnt worth 7-8M a year. especially since he likely takes a step back without peyton throwing to him and without demaryus thomas on the other side of the field.

id rather have 48M to fill out holes the 40M

Sanchez is going nowhere if we don't get schwaub or Vick... They will restructure him... What other backup is out there?

no it isnt. having sanchez on this team would be the worst thing we could possibly do. not cutting him would be the second worst move in franchise history. the first being giving sanchez the extension in the first place

in your opinion, who is the better option? What don't you realize about the fact that we have no #1 or #2 receiver on the active roster?

They're too smart to do it but it would be really sweet for the Pats to fall into an Aso swoon over Revis right now and lose touch with reality for the next 3 days as the market winds down.

decker had 2 good year, both coincided with peyton manning becoming his QB and having thomas across the field from him.

If decker needs more then that let someone else pay him. we cant afford to give top dollar to mediocure players

It's gonna take 7-8 mil a year to sign Decker.

I really don't wanna derail this thread, but I have to respond to the notion that Sanchez better than Qb 'X'.

While Sanchez might be better than someone like Weeden, there's also a lot of baggage & distraction with Sanchez, because of his past in this organization. And that is never a good thing.

Hmmm, left to right: Wilkerson, Wilfork, Harrison, Richardson. That'd be a nice by-product of some temporary Pats insanity.

he may be the best or one of the best FA WR's available, that doesnt mean we need to sign him or overpay him. we dont have a #1 WR on this roster, if we signed decker we still wouldnt have a #1 WR on this roster.

id rather go WR in the first round and look to sign maclin or another second tier WR in free agnecy who will put up the same numbers decker would here for far less money.

There are no Jet sources. Nothing leaves the building.
