Revis was never meant to go You should never trade your #1 talent on your team. The terrible contracts we gave to holmes, harris, Sanchez, prohibited us from giving him what he was due. Additionally, the Jets FO would look like a genius with how they handled the situation if they got him back. If he went to NE, that's a different story...
Wtf is Idzik doing,The lions just signed Golden Tate and the lions have the worst cap situation in the league and we haven't signed anyone.Everyones saying be patient there's not gonna be anyone left that's anything special by tommorow
Golden Tate isn't anything special either. but on the topic at hand, if you can get Revis at 12m or less a year I think its a no brainer.
Golden Tate would have filled two needs, punt returner and wr and he is great at both.We have nobody who can do that
Manish saying on Twitter that a member of the Revis camp is saying Revis to the Pats is gonna happen.
Fuck that. Lat NE keep the cap killer. And If he goes to NE for a decent price, it's bc he wanted to stick it to us, for not giving 16M per.
If Revis wants to play for the Jets he will come in at a decent number. All the rest is just posturing. His entourage knows that Manish et. al. will print anything they give them to get the price up. Tampa was 4 and 12 with Revis and they let him go. One player does not win in the NFL unless he is a QB. The Pats. just lost their best corner and receiver and may have to overpay. There are good players out there still.
I really don't think Revis is the vindictive type. At worst, he recognized himself as the best CB in the league, demanded money for it, and we didn't/couldn't give it to him. He thrived under Rex, and has cursed the pats and BB on multiple occassions. If we are to match the Pats offer, I'd believe he would pick us over NE.
If Revis were to come back. Trading him would be one of the smartest moves the jets have made. Imagine we get Richardson, a 4th rd pick and Revis back fully recoved from the knee surgery. We saw how Seattle's defense did it last year. I would offer 10-12 mill for Revis. You can afford that without money tied up in Cromartie. The problem before was Revis wanted 16, a rediculous number, and we already had cromartie making like 8 mill. Thats 24 mill in two corners. What is milliner making a mill?
It makes sense. He dominated in Rex's scheme. Last year taught him you're not guaranteed to have that same type of easy success in any defense.
