you guys need to get over the price, we have competent people in place managing our cap. the cap is going up and up and up over the next few years. Players will be overpaid b/c of it. if you want to sign a FA early you are going to overpay a bit.
I agree 100 % would he look good on our team yes... hell yes but the key is the price ! a # 2 isn't worth 10 mil per... which I think a team will overpay and regret it sure is he worth 6 or 7 yes but he will command 10.
Then in 2 years from now when he under performs we will be back to the Holmes sitch all over again... my point is spend with caution.

Questions at QB, cold climate & a consistently bottom 30 offense doesnt lend to getting bargain deals to get WRs to come to NY. Nobody is saying Decker is the savior or Is gonna transform the offense.But hes a good route runner with some size to boot.Hed drastically improve this O.Unfortunately jets will have to pay at least market value to get him
They are really building there team to win now, if they don't win these next 1-3 years, I'd be shocked
PS this year isn't so pretty at WR talent, nothing wrong with keeping some space avl in our cap for a year when we could really use it, on a sure type guy if the guys we draft don't pan out.
Is he not considered a top notch (potentially) FS? I watched a little bit of the Combine coverage, and he seemed very athletic, and IIRC, they said he's got good range.
Tebow and Orton are not equivalent Qb's. Orton is much better. Did you not see the Cowboys Eagles game at the end of the season? Sure, Orton threw an interception at the end, but he had a very good game considering.

Why is paying market a problem? The Jets have the cap space, have the need, and the opportunity. Sounds like the right circumstances to pay market price.
It would help if a WR would actually did get signed. If Nicks gets 5 milion, Decker would lose leverage, if Nicks gets 10 million then Decker could ask for the same.
