Maybe we should ask Andre Smith or Jacob Bell if they think Sanchez is better than Dalton?

It's not about him having "anything to gain". Maybe he just likes the guy and doesnt wanna pile on?

Dalton is an average QB who would probably dip to a below average player if you took a guy like AJ Green away from him. Again, saying you would take Mark over somebody like that isn't any big news.

Also, why say Mark hasn't been given a fair shake? He was given the keys to the car right from the start and the Jets never brought in any real competition to even push him for the vast majority of his time with the Jets. He was brought in and handed everything. Has is that not giving him a fair shake? He was given plenty of opportunities to succeed. He wasn't given a fair shake because he doesn't have HOF caliber talent around him? Makes no sense. Every QB shouldn't need top 5 receivers to throw the ball to.

A good combination of quality guys like the ones Mark had for the first 3 years is enough to succeed

    Edwards, Keller, Cotchery in 2009
Edwards, Holmes, Cotchery, Keller, Tomlinson in 2010
Holmes, Burress, Keller, Tomlinson Kerley in 2011

Thats not exactly poor talent, and it was backed by a good O-Line and strong defense. Is it the 2013 Bengals offense? No, but many QB's in this league could be very successful throwing to that crop of guys. Once again look at guys like Russell Wilson in Seattle, A-Rod in Green Bay, Luck this year in Indy. These guys are not throwing to AJ Green's, Andre Johnson's, and Calvin Johnson's. But they all manage to be successful, cause they're talented players....

Why do you keep going to lying? I handed you another perfectly acceptable definition on a platter, but you continue to assert that I believe Woody was lying. Let me see if I can make this clear enough for you to understand:
    I
    DO
    NOT
    BELIEVE
    WOODY
    WAS
    LYING!

I still question how anyone could think Sanchez was given less than a fair shake.

Do you have an answer to that or would you like to be an asspain and carry on the lying story?

He blocked for QBs, he didn't play defense.

You seem to like asspain and I'm not even sure what that is, but folks here have obsessions so good luck with that asspain you seem so obsessed about.

But back to your "asspain" point.

Woody gave you his opinion which you don't agree with and therefore you don't believe in his opinion.

So when you suggest no one could HONESTLY have that opinion you think he is either wrong (which is fine, opinions differ) or he is lying.

You can all caps your outrage all you want, but your premise is wrong. Someone- a former NFL player has given you his honest opinion.

Disagree with it all you want. All caps your outrage all you want.

But someone gave you an honest opinion that differs from yours. And his opinion carries more weight than yours. You're just some whiner on the internet, not an ex-NFL player, not an ex-Jet, not an ex-teammate. You're no one.

Sorry to have to point that out to you. You will probably continue to be outraged.

    You need to calm down.

He might take you more seriously if you knew the difference between Kris Jenkins and Damien Woody.

    Just my honest opinion.

I apologize, I obviously overestimated your command of the English language.

Does anyone here believe the Jets did not give Sanchez a "fair shake?"

I admitted my err, but it doesn't change the narrative. A pro football player, ex Jet, ex teammate (who protects QBs and protected one of the GOATS QBs for years gave his opinion. You may disagree with it, but I'll give his opinion a little more credence than some internet expert.

    Just my honest opinion.

I understand exactly what you are saying. You disagree with his opinion. Doesn't mean it's wrong.

I apologize I obviously overestimated your command of logic and reasoning.

when you consider the talent loss post 2010 I would say no. we needed to keep surrounding our young, developing QB w/ more talent but instead we kept taking away.

this is true. however you cant go out and get all of the defensive guys rex wanted and also go and get a ton of guys on offense, ESPECIALLY when you are paying your qb too much and your number 1 wr is being paid like a top wr but is really a 2.

part of my problem with sanchez from the beginning was the cap hit he was at the 5 pick. we were still paying gholston in his #6 pick contract and now were going to be paying another guy top 10 money, a qb no less. and that right there hampered the amount of guys that were brought in i am sure. then i dont really remember but when did sancho get his contract redone? was it after 2011? or before? either way they were paying him and guys like holmes a shit ton of money while also paying dbrick and mangold a shit ton of money. AND wanting to spend money on defense because the philosophy was to win with defense.

so yes you are correct, he did not get a ton of talent around him. but in part thats because of the amount he costed at the 5 and the fact his coach is a defense first guy. AND the jets decided they were going to hand the reigns over to him after the 2010 season and he was going to be able to play at a level where he didnt need top guys to succeed. and they were wrong, and thats ok, just so long as we at this point move on and see what we can do with another guy. now that we have seen that we cant depend on him to carry the team.

or you can fire the head coach and bring in a new philosophy.

his contract was high but it wasn't ridiculous, we could have added talent.

there are 2-3 guys who can win w/ average talent, if the Jets thought Mark would be one of those guys they made a huge mistake.

That and the fact that as a top 5 pick they expected him to be more effective than he was in 2011.

More effective than setting the franchise record for total TDs in a season despite 3 of his top 5 weapons entering the year being out of football at the end of it?

Only time he's sniffed 20 TD's, and not to mention turning the ball over 26 times VS 32 TD's total. only completed 55% or better of his passes once, never completed as many as 57%. Only threw fewer than 18 Picks once, in 2 of his 4 seasons he threw more Picks than TD's. Glowing resume there.
