Howard was a pleasant surprise last year but there is no way he is worth 7-8 million a year, absolutely no way.

He's worse then Howard. Just because he was on the Blind Side (movie) does not make him a good player.

We need to just pay Howard...continuity is key and if we lose him we'll need a RT and two guards. We've already lost Asamoah pretty much to the Falcons. Let's hope Idzik is planning this out

Ware would be nice but he is a luxury we have enough holes to fill

That's debatable and you have no idea what Howard is asking for.

Wish there was an option to mute Bill Polian.

remember there were some rumblings about revis and SF last year? that could be a spot though I don't know their cap situation. could be the missing piece out there.

Jets D-Line/NT's & ILB's are defenses strength. OLB & Safeties are there weaknesses. CB's are average, but with Cromartie gone, they have to replace him. CB's best friend is a great pass-rush. If Jets upgrade OLB's position, that improves the secondary. I don't know why Jets don't move Kyle Wilson to Free Safety??? That's his best position & potentially helps in solving there FS problem.

DT: Jets need 2 DE/DT via FA/Draft. Coples has to show improvement this season & he probally will because his contractis coming due. Good complementary player, but hasn't lived up to being a #1 pick.

DE: 2 needed. Jets have to upgrade an already decent unit & upgrade their pass-rush.. Adding 2 solid players to this unit can only improve a good unit. NT position is finally solid.

OLB: 3 needed. Passrush's most important position & one of Jets weakest. Rex has continually not solved this problem & listening to him, it doesn't seem to bother him. Jets need 3 OLB's....speed-rushers...IMO. Last rusher Jets had was Aaron Maybin ???

ILB: 2 needed. Jets just need to bolter this unit. Starters are in place, but the fall off is steep when it comes to the back-ups. More speed & better pass-coverage LB's needed.

CB: 3 needed. Only 1 real CB on roster {Milner}. Jets need to try to re-sign Cromartie & still get 2 more CB's via FA/Draft. Anyway....Jets need 3 more CB's.

SS: 2 needed. Allen & Jarrett I like. Reed...make him a coach. Jets need a starting caliber SS.

FS: 2 needed. Jets currently have no NFL caliber FS's on roster. Only if Kyle Wilson is moved to FS. Jets have to address back-end of secondary.

P: 1 needed. Jets need a Punter with a stronger leg.

ST: Jets need to increase there team speed on Special Teams..

    PRIORITIES: #1- OLB position; #2- CB; #3- SS; #4- ST's; #5- DL/DE/DT.

This is my evaluation of Jets Pre-Free Agency Defense. A team is only as strong as it's weakest link. Remember...u gotta have depth.

Agreed, his burst off the snap is one of the fastest I've ever seen and I think he still has 2 good years left.

The RBs really do need their own Union.

    1. This doesn't mean Austin Howard isn't re-signing. Way less likely but it's not foregone conclusion.
    2. How do any of us know what his agents were demanding? Are you ready to give Austin Howard $7 mil? I'm not.
    3. Why would Howard accept an offer right now if he's going to be a hot commodity? Makes more sense for HIM to test the waters. See: Edelman.

Exactly, no sense in overpaying that's what has hurt us in the past.

They tried Oher on the left side, he wasn't good. They TRADED 2 picks for Eugene Monroe and let Oher play on the right side. Not good, they let him go right away. What does that tell you about Oher?
