your not getting 3 very good players for 12-15M.... a very good corner alone is going to cost us 8-10 million

Everyones too busy crying that Revis is so selfish and a prick but you know what that prick got us.. Sheldon Richardson. I'm glad Revis was so selfish it got the Buccaneers to give up a prime draft pick that gave us DPOY for them to rent Revis for 10 months. Whether we make an attempt to bring him back or not I think fans should forgive him. While he rubbed many as greedy for holding out for the maximum amount of money he could get, he was the best CB in the game during his time with us.
I'd like to thank Revis for holding out because it made us on the winning end of one of the most lopsided NFL trades in a while.
I'll be first to welcome him back but if not thanks for the memories Revis.

If Idzik was able to bring Revis back, so that all we did was loan him out for a year where we had low expectations anyway, and also received two high picks, one of which has netted as the defensive rookie of the year - My God, Idzik will be crowned our all-time best GM, and a parade will be in order.

So Bucs asked Revis to take a pay cut as part of a trade, and Revis said no. LOL! Gotta love him. Hey, at least hes not shy about his money.

Why should he? The Bucs were all smiles and kisses 9 months ago, and everyone included Jets fans admired the contract they were able to sign him to. Hey, even though I'd love to see him back here I am also glad this sh*t is their problem right now and not ours.

I think we can all agree that if he's not a Buc, and not a Jet next season, let him be a Brown.

FWIW, paying $16M a year for anyone that isn't your QB is a pretty asinine move.

Who would have thought that the best organization that Revis would have played for during his career (potentially) would be none other than the NY Jets...

Now that Revis has clarified that he will not take a cut the question is whether the Bucs will really cut him.

It has plenty to do with "butt hurt"; there is no "man crush" and you're not the one to tell me to grow up, sonny. Revis today has a number of good years in him and it doesn't mean spit if he gives YOU headaches. He would probably cost about two or three million more than all the other guys mentioned to fill the slot. Depending on where that falls, he's certainly worth negotiating with and it's nonsense that you don't think a professional athlete can want to both win and line his own pockets. Why do you take that so personally. And if you "could care less" about what I think, why not think much less about it?

    Here's two questions for you:

    1. If Revis was on the field would he improve the Jets defense?
    2. Could he be had for $12-13M a year?

If you could NOT care less don't bother answering.

In theory he could take a pay cut to a lower level if the market wasn't likely to compensate him as well as the lower level.

As an example, if Revis and his representation thought that he was going to get a $13M a year deal somewhere else then the Bucs offering that amount would actually be better for him due to Florida having no income tax.

I don't see the point in getting wound up about Revis. I don't think Woody would bring him back under any circumstances.

why would he take a pay cut just to help them? the value of the trade is that he keeps his $16 million. if he has to renegotiate that to what would end up being less money, he may as well get cut and negotiate a new deal with any team he wants rather than simply whatever team is willing to trade for him.

there is zero incentive for him to renegotiate.

This thread should be closed. Revis hasn't deserved a thread on a Jets message board in a while

but the Bucs asked him to take a cut so he could be traded, if that report is true, not to stay with the team.

that being said, I wouldn't doubt that Revis values his gross salary rather than his net, because the gross is his bragging rights.

only teams I can see trading for him is Cleveland and Oakland. and if either team give up a first it will be a huge mistake.
