Do you have a link to where the Bucs said they were going to release Revis. I live down here and have not seen anything close to that.
i think id still rather have a younger player in verner or davis..but I'm jealous of other teams with revis.. i didn't care when he was on the bucs i was thinking wouldn't mike pettine want to go after cro or revis… take that back because there getting ready to pay joe hayden..but cro would be a fit over there
I'm sorry it was the Tampa Bay Tribune. Dude in all honesty just look at the news man. It's a fact. You can not believe it all you want but every single analyst and sports station is reporting it.
They would still give up the 4th and will need another CB with the FA contracts being signed in the $9-10m range so effectively pick up $6-7M
On a team like the Bucs who are clearly on the bottom of their division, that kind of cap relief is crucial toward rebuilding. Revis can't play corner and defensive end at the same time. $6-7 mil left over could still be used toward multiple players. They see the Revis trade as a wash since it didn't work out. New GM, new decisions
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ent-a-trade-bucs-will-cut-revis-on-wednesday/ I would give them back their fourth for Revis as long as he will renegotiate his contract to a four year 40 million deal.
The Bucs did not say they were going to release him and in Cummings article where they stated they were still attempting to restructure the contract to find a trade partner. The Tribs source was a text from an unknown source but even that text did not say they were going to release him.
with revis on the market this changes everything for teams.. it will def hold it up because everyone is going to want him
Like I said, you can believe it or not, but I can bet you anything he gets traded or cut by Wednesday like they are reporting.
Revis will not cost 16M anymore... Even if he is traded he will be re adjusting 100% If the Pats are close to signing Talib they will be out on Revis
No matter where he goes, I think he will sign for 12 million a year roughly. That's fair, a few million more than other top corners are going to be getting. As for all the members not believing it, I'm just laughing, because I have a million app stuff for nfl news, and I found the reports probably 5-6 different times while looking for Jets updates.
He's gonna get cut. Which means sayonara to that extra 3rd rounder, hello 4th. A team would only trade for him if it had a reworked deal in place first. I don't see that happening in a few days given how frenzied front offices are right now with free agency and how notoriously "difficult" Revis and his agent are.
33 years old and coming off a torn tricep and a knee injury, possible for the short term if he gets cleared to play
I guess some of us think that when someone posts "it's official" or "Tampa Bay confirmed it" that we might actually expect it to be official or confirmed by Tampa Bay
Revis being cut was always a possibility in my mind for the last few months. A 3rd a 4th its fine I'll take it... Hope dude doesn't end up in the AFC east tho.
