Revis knows NY is a huge media market. He loves the money. I think his Nike deal was dead when he was traded to TB. Not 100% on that though. Another thing what happens to that town in TB they renamed, Revis Island?
Old news pulled from the net, something I remembered from when the Jets were trying to trade Revis: Would not be surprised if JJ pounced on Revis now.
Nah the Cowboys are in cap hell. They're trying to get Ware to take a paycut so they can get under the cap. I don't see them having the space to sign Revis.
It would be awesome if we somehow landed him for 9 or 10 mil per year but I guess there is too much bad blood between Woody and Revis camp it won't happen.
If anyone can mend that fence it's Rex. Maybe the reports of how unhappy Revis was playing in that cover 2 system in Tampa were legit and he'll realize what he was missing in NY. Obviously the only way he even thinks about coming back to NY is if he realizes this is his best opportunity to play the kind of defense he is best at.
id love to be able to take my revis jersey out of my trunk... its been there since the buttfumble game
with what money? If I recall the boys are one of the most cap strapped teams right now, they can't afford to to lure him in. plus they already have bother expensive corner. That would be, the greatest thing ever. I think the jets have some other CB ready to be signed as it is though... but man oh man if they could grab him for a price closer to 10 million with like 3 years of that guaranteed? its a lot, but then, its Revis. I think he didn't take something like that last time, but now that he's vacationed in tampa maybe he'll change his tune a bit...
The Cowboys are marketing based. They just want the biggest bang for their buck in terms of merchandising. The question is whether they could pay Revis $13-15M a year and turn a profit on it. Jerry Jones won't sign Revis if he can't make the dollars add up on the bottom line. He'll sign him in a heartbeat if he sees a profit to be made. Super Bowls are irrelevant to that team. If they weren't irrelevant Jones would have stepped back and let a football professional run his talent evaluation and acquisition process.
http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=10585857&src=desktop This would be us about now. Please tell me again why getting 1st rounder for Revis was a bad idea...
It is risky, lets not chase Revis like we chased Nnamdi. I wonder if this throws a monkey wrench into Idziks plan.....
Come back to play with Rex, we'll give you X guaranteed money but you have to make at least a third of what you're making now on an annual basis. take it or we move on, no further negotiations. no trading draft picks in the next two days for him either.
I have a feeling Idzik would want to sign Revis, but Woody is the one that probably won't want to deal with Revis's agents sadly, which would kill any hope of a deal.
