The clock is ticking hard on the Revis situation right now. In 3 days we'll either have the 69 pick or the 104-110 (possible comp picks added in ) and the difference between those picks is huge in this draft.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 2m Short of a trade in the next two days, the Buccaneers are expected to release CB Darrelle Revis by 4 p.m. Wednesday, per league sources.
Here's an interesting thing I just read: "And here’s an intriguing angle. While it’s believed that the fourth-round pick that the Buccaneers owe the Jets to complete the trade becomes a third-round pick on the third day of the league year, it’s possible that the draft pick accelerates at 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday. (We’re currently trying to nail that down.)
This was inevitable, he's gone, 4th rounder, damn Lovie and his Tampa 2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It probably depends on whether the Jets believe Revis really wants to be a Jet or just really wants to be highly paid. No player who is just looking to get paid is worth paying.
So all the holdouts, and admitting he didn't care what the team's record is as long as he gets paid...and what did it get him? Jerry Jones can have him now, good riddance. Don't want him back, but happy about the compensation, and about how stupid we made the Bucs look for the second time (Keyshawn the other, of course)
How good does the trade last year look now? From my viewpoint the Jets got a potential star DL from an almost hopeless position.
Lol, of course they're releasing him. Should have figured that's how it'd play out. That means what Lovie Smith had said about having big plans for Revis was all a smokescreen.
Most likely he will sign with the Pats. Thats OK. It will be sweet to kick Pats' ass with Revis on their roster.
Idzik would look like a real champ if he could pull that off. He already pulled off a great trade based on what we know.
