Holmes being cut was destined to happen. The only real question is what happens to him now, where he ends up.
This guy had like 1 memorable play last year. (Bills game) Thanks for the memories from 2010, you fooled the FO good.
Apparently you did, because I said multiple times in this thread that Holmes will be cut or restructured and that it's the best action for the team. He could still be back on the cheap though, so don't get out the champagne just yet. I just argued against the exaggerations that the haters put out there. The Jets did the right thing here.
Starting to have the same feelings of longing for Santonio as the genital warts I parted ways with...
Take care Tone. Back on the cheap? Are you nuts? Not exactly sure what you were arguing...the guy had no production. Character issues aside, that's what matters.
I don't see why the Jets would cut Holmes and re-sign him. They took a $2.5 million hit on the cap to cut him. Why wouldn't they just restructure him to $2.5 if they wanted to keep him? Maybe I'm not understanding correctly but I believe if they re-sign him now it would be the $2.5 million hit plus whatever his new contract cap hit is for for 2014. Makes no sense to me. I don't see Holmes coming back.
idk y but i got a feeling were not gonna get the WR's we want. only a half of a legit #1 in Nicks in free agency... he seems to be interested in other teams. Maclin already resigned. Im starting to feel like Sanders isnt as much of a Need more like a want. I thought he was taller i didnt know we'd basically be bringing in another Kerley. Are we gonna go into the draft with a half decent #2 and thats it (IF WE GET SANDERS) i dont like that at all. We cant gamble on draft picks turning out to be solid #1's
I totally agree from a logical and rational point of view, but whoever said that we Jets fans are rational? The problem is his still being on the team gives it a certain stench. I can pinch my nose and wait just as long as he is eventually sent packing. Seriously, there is no rush to cut him. I can't see his having any kind of future here or the fans tolerating his stepping on the field, but as hard as it seems for any of them to be even a remote possibility, one of scenarios could play out. Idzik is just being smart and cautious.
The contrast of Holmes reaction and Cromartie's is quite telling of where things stand between the jets and Holmes.. Good luck elsewhere... Side note: Cimini is being a big tool about this but he said earlier he came out to about 255k a catch these past 2 seasons. Ouch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
