That's basically what I said. He wasn't as bad as Flacco, but if Flacco had been released early in his run, Baltimore would have made a mistake. But I agree with you. Dalton's numbers with some very good pass catchers have been abysmal so far in his career.
Sure...He believes he can start in NY, starting in NY gets you a ton of press, if he can prove himself he becomes very attractive to a number of teams, and that can lead to a nice pay day. Going someplace to be a backup for a few more bucks basically ends his career as a starter. If he wants to start the best option for him is in NY.
"...hasn't been given a fair shake..." People said that about the TT guy and if you stretched, you could possibly see their point, even while disagreeing. Tell me how this can honestly be said of Sanchez.
Sounds like you think Damien Woody, who was just an ex-teammate and was just an ex-NY Jet (and not a full-fledged TGG football expert) is lying. I mean, that's the opposite of honestly, right? _
No. I'd like to know how anyone can honestly think he hasn't gotten a fair shake. I'd ask Woody the same. Unless you're looking to be an asspain, why selectively nitpick a word's definition if you won't consider all of them? "2. used to emphasize the sincerity of an opinion, belief, or feeling."
I wasn't trying to be an "asspain". You could ask any number of football experts on TGG and they'll give you different opinions--wildly different and most would agree with you. But sometimes you get the opinion of a REAL expert, not just some shmo typing away at a smartphone or a laptop. Actually a REAL expert who happened to be (i) an ex-Jet AND (ii) an ex-teammate. THAT guy said he hasn't gotten a fair shake, so if by your reasoning no one could honestly say that, he must be lying. Right? _
How does Damien Woody qualify as an expert on QB's? Him being an ex-team mate only makes him more biased, no?
He had 67 starts in his career if Woody was a TGG poster or if he and I were face to face I'd ask him what he meant by that. Even if we don't agree but he gave me a rational explanation I'd at least see where he's coming from.
Good point. I'll defer to the collective expertise on TGG rather than listen to an ex-football player whose job was to study, hunt, then try to kill QBs. _
Exactly. Not saying he's right or wrong--but that's the man's opinion. So either he's just completely wrong...or he's lying. _
Damien Woody was an offensive tackle. He is also biased because he was team mates with Sanchez. I'm sure we can find some current and former NFL players who disagree?
My mistake--thought it was Jenkins. Hey-I'm not saying he's right or wrong--I'm just saying the guy has an opinion and I have no reason to believe he's lying so SOMEONE can honetly say it. Actually HE did. _
Why is it hard to believe Dalton is not that good when considering the talent he is surrounded with. The question is is he better than Geno long and short term. If he is and the Jets dumb him sham on the Jets. If he is not dump him or keep him either way the Jets win.
Yes the fact that all the decent QB's being too expensive IS a decent reason to keep Sanchez. Especially if he takes the pay cut.
