But even with Verner and Byrd, we would still have the money to get a Sanders and a Pettigrew, as well as OL.

I think we will spend but not go overboard, we have our own guys coming up soon and will need that cap room for them.

Stepping away from D for a minute.. A lot of people seem to like the little they saw of Goodson but the guy has hardly played in 2 years, coming off a major injury, and may be put back in jail.

I fully expect the Jets to add a back. Whether it's Tate, MJD, Jennings or some of the others that have been mentioned. Powell/Ivory are a good back tandem but we need a speedster. On the right deals I would gladly take in Darren McFadden or Chris Johnson. Neither would be the feature back so the nagging injuries shouldn't be as much of problem. If the asking price isn't too high id be on board

Yes but Idzik has a clear specific vision for this team. He probably doesn't want to put all our marbles (in this case, money) into just this year's free agency. He also goes for BPA in the draft, since searching for answers and filling important spots through the draft can be very risky. He's setting this team up for years to come, building the right way over a course of more than just 1-2 years,

I am fully on board for a Byrd Verner combo. That would be absolutely sick. Draft an OLB and we would be set for many years. We can put all our focus on offense then.

Dolphins are expected to go after Austin Howard after they finalize the deal with Brandon Albert. This isn't good...they could easily overpay and we would be out of a right tackle. Would just add another need to our list...no bueno

How the fuck do the dolphins have so much cap room?

And still havnt learned lesson from last year? Trading up and overpaying every free agent does not go well

I'm not even sure...they have like 32 million in cap room even after handing out those bloated deals last year. Really no idea

I am really hoping we land Verner and all of these reports aren't just smokescreen BS. We need to revamp the defense and Verner would be amazing. I also know that for most reports about Byrd, many teams are interested in him and the Jets aren't really one of them. I'm hoping that that may be a smokescreen and that we can land him as well without using too much of our budget. I can see reports of us signing him, "Byrd to fly with the Jets", lol.
