andy dalton is so-so at best mark sanchez is bad at best i dont like dalton. i dont think he is more then just average, if he is even that. but sanchez is terrible. the worst starting QB in the league imo, and by a pretty sizeable margin. you really cant get worse then a guy who turns it over a ton, isnt accurate, doesnt make plays, and sucks in the redzone
Woody and Mark were teammates. It's not shocking he defended him. He didn't have to but it's not shocking. Saying he thinks Sanchez is better then an average at best QB who most people want replaced as well doesn't mean a whole lot either.
I don't see it. I think Idzik wants to move on. Mark's not his guy, so there isn't any real loyalty there. Only way it could happen is if the FA market for guys like Schaub and Vick gets overpriced and Mark is willing to come back at a real low rate. JMO.
That's the thing, Mark appears willing to come back at a real low rate. Backup QBs are getting paid like 3-5 mil. I could see Mark coming back around that rate, maybe less. That's what bothers me the most. I don't want Vick if he is overpriced.
I wonder how many years after he IS cut this thread will survive..didn't the Pennington thread last about another three years after he left?
In 2011 he was like a 90 rating in the red zone and the jets were a top team in red zone efficiency. Prior to 2012 he was making strides as the team changed from heavy run in 2009-2010 to a more pass happy offense as the offensive line and running game struggled. The jets have never had the weapons to really excel in a pass first offense. The Bengals have superior offensive weapons compared to the jets for Dalton to throw to.
I understand that Dalton has AJ Green and that is better than Mark Sanchez has ever had, by far. I'm going to do this without mentioning those 4 playoff wins. Andy Dalton has never had a QBR under 80, Sanchez has never a QB Rating of 80. Dalton's worst QB Rating is better than Sanchez best. Dalton's lowest completion % was 58%. Sanchez highest is 56.7. Dalton has a higher career TD% and a lower career INT %. Dalton has thrown for way more yards. Has a lower sack %. Higher Y/A. Besides Mark's two playoff runs, I don't see an argument that he is better than Andy Dalton. Dalton has the better supporting cast, but I don't know if we can say with absolute certainty Sanchez would be better than him. He could be better, but its really tough to know.
Looking at what Cassell and Henne got you know Schaub and Vick are going to want at least $6 million per. You bring in a $6 million QB and tell him ok go compete with our second round draft choice that we aren't sold on could destroy any potential Smith has. Sanchez creates the least drama since it is just a repeat from last year with better weapons and with Smith having a year under his belt.
Dalton is definitely a better regular season QB. But Dalton is straight up GARBAGE in every playoff game he's played in. That's alarming in my book. He doesn't play well in big games.
Essentially every game is big - only reason we got shitted on is because Millner and Cro played like absolute shit. I think one regular season game does not off-set 3 or 4 awful playoff performances.
I agree in part. But at the same time, that is a tiny sample size. If I'm reading it correctly, he has played in only 3 playoff games. If that is the case, I don't think its fair to completely judge him. He'll have plenty more playoff games to stabilize those numbers. If he continues to suck, I'll feel more comfortable saying that.
3 games 1 TD, 6 INT, 3 Fumb (1 lost) - and that includes a home game and going against a backup QB in houston
