You guys have to be kidding. Baker couldn't catch a cold. He had very unrealiable hands. I was delighted when he left.

    That is false. False. False.

Chris Baker made some unbelievable hands and caught passes that should have never been caught. To try to take that away from him is silly, he wasn't an all-pro by any means, struggled to get open, didn't have very good speed. He had great hands and was a good blocker for us, he was a good piece for this team for several years.

I disagree. I never saw him make what could be galled a great pass or one that shouldn't have been caught and saw him drop more than afew.

Good move by Idzik bringing Cumber back. Even better that it's for a shade over 1 M per.

Reading back over my post I think I just hit on the secret to drafting a great TE! Draft guys whose last names start with the letter "G", right? And avoid "H" cuz those guys will just kill ya.... your draft, I mean your draft. ;)

think 5.7M is just slightly too much for Cumberland.
He's a dreadful blocker against pass or special teams rush pressure, and a poor run blocker. Also disappears for games at a clip, suggesting to me that he's easy for defenses to take out of a game.
His upside to me is not a starter, but a role player used on obvious passing downs between the 20's. Hopefully he can grow into a consistent threat that teams need to worry about picking up chunk ydg.
I'd value him at about 1 to 1.2M per.

I would still sign Pettigrew, than have the flexibility to draft another TE somewhere in the draft.
