agree - we have shown our hand here - not necessarily bad but now we may have to add CB to our draft wishlist along with TE, WR, and OLB
Retweeted by NFL Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 18m If #Jets release Mark Sanchez, their QB list will include Josh McCown, Michael Vick… & Matt Schaub if he’s released. They’re high on Schaub
Did the Jets sign Demetrius Byrd? Hasn't played since 2009. Source: https://twitter.com/TheRealDByrd_2/status/443063502224494594
i would actually be happy with schaub before last year he used to be EXACTLY what we needed. a low-risk guy that usually made the right read
This^. Excellent post. I think your reading of Idzik is spot on. I particularly want Asamoah and Verner, but Clemons would be nice too. I'd also like to see them sign Emmanuel Sanders and Josh McCown or Jason Campbell, but have my doubts. Supposedly 4 other teams are interested in McCown, so I doubt that Idzik would be the highest bidder for Cown. You can't win a bidding war if you don't enter, and I just can't see Idzik going there.
Just to throw another name into the mix that i haven't seen yall discussing yet. Check out this article from NFL.com - http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...e-deals-early-moves-before-free-agency-starts At the very bottom: Five irresponsible predictions After the preamble above, let's throw it all out there and make a few irresponsible predictions for possible deals that could get done early in free agency. Remember, don't trust anything this time of year. Especially me: 1. Michael Johnson to Tampa Bay 2. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie back to Denver 3. Rodger Saffold to Oakland 4. Branden Albert to Miami 5. Lamarr Houston to New York Jets We'll check back Wednesday to see how these predictions did.
Not necessarily. As far as I know, Vontae Davis hasn't re-signed with the Dolts and there are other FA CBs. Milliner is supposed to be the #1 CB. We don't need two #1 CBs, so we wouldn't have to take either Dennard or Gilbert. There are a number of good CB prospects that will probably be available in rounds 2-4.
terrible offense is a good reason why we wont go 12-4. as is a bottom 10 QB, no running game, potential a bad offensive line, and who knows in our secondary. i think its more likely we go 4-12 then it is we go 12-4. we also dont play crap divisions this year
yup... in fact i think we will grab 2 corners as no way we go into the year with milliner starting. would love to see us make a hard run at talib
He will be a top 15 cornerback within the year with experience as a #1 CB. Of course you have every right to your opinion, but what did you think about Milliner's last 4 games?
I'm guessing you didn't watch the last 3rd of the season? Milliner is going to be a good NFL cornerback. I'm willing to bet on that.
I used to think Millner was going to be trash too. Millner and Geno's last 4 games give him tons of hope for the future though. Is he better at zone or man to man is the main question.
Dude, you do understand that it takes CBs a year or so to develop, don't you? Do you also remember that Revis didn't exactly light it up his rookie season? Also, don't forget that Milliner missed a bunch of time early due to injury. Some of you guys are too quick to label rookies busts and say they suck. You sound like you haven't been watching the NFL very long. Lots of rookies take a year or two to develop then become excellent players. Just because a rookie doesn't light it up from the moment he stops foot on an NFL field, doesn't mean that he's a bust and sucks. Get real.
I think he's hitting the market for a look-see. If he has a solid offer from the Jets he can always come back for it in a day or two. If somebody blows him away then he'll go there but then the Jets will take that money and buy one of the premier OT's instead.
