I'm getting word,as most of you might have, a handshake deal with Alterraun Verner will keep Cro form coming back. I would hope they bring Cro back as a FS if this deal is true.
Also, if this deal is true I would consider the guys that's reporting it legit.
I'll post who they are if the handshake deal is true.

Would Cro work as a FS? He has the wheels for it but FS requires the ability to keep the play in front of you and make good reads as it is developing. I don't know if Cro has that skill set.

It's really premature to suggest at this point but if Cro came back and the Jets signed Verraun there might be better options for FS already on the roster.

I'd be curious to know what Cro is seeking. But based on this tweet it doesn't appear that there will be a re-signing. We'll see though, depends entirely on his market. I could see the Lions as a landing spot for him.

I read a source quoting unnamed FO people who say that they see Cro as the kind of player who will lose much of his effectiveness as he slows down since he relied on speed far more than technique. If that is the analysis, he's probably gone, which would explain the apparent pursuit of Verner.

Hm. As much as I have been a Cro fan, if that is the view of him, he's probably not coming back even at a lower number.

Forget Cro he is done... More importantly, where are you hearing this about Verner.. Need some sources cuz right now all I am hearing is that the Jets, Vikings and Rams are all interested.

Interesting idea... I've often wondered if Kyle Wilson's game would translate well to being a FS.

This is 100% true, cro has always relied on his speed to cover receivers, and he was very effective at it because he was blazing fast and he has long arms. So he was always able to catch up to the receiver if they got past him due to his poor technique when initially jamming the receiver at the beginning of the play.

But he's gonna slow down eventually due to age and injury. Maybe he's able to return to form next season and have a bounce back year, but what about the year after that?

It looks like Idzik isn't willing to invest big money unless the player can contribute year after year. So it looks like he's willing to let cro walk a year early rather than a year late. If this is the case i hope the whole handshake deal with Verner is true, cause I don't see Milliner as a #1 corner. I can't find anything on the internet saying that Verner and the Jets have a handshake deal, just that the Jets and a few other teams are showing interest in Verner.

Why wouldn't you post who they are if it's not true so we can ignore them in the future?

That is very true, my criticism of him has always been his horribly inconsistent technique. I don't see him as the kind of player that will age gracefully. The injury last year slowed him a step and his technique got exposed last season. Verner would be an incredible pickup for us he had a great year last season and is very young.

I kinda doubt the Jets have a handshake agreement with Verner at this point. Why would a player that is looking to max out salary-wise lock himself into a deal before checking out the whole market?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets wind up giving him the best offer and him accepting, but I don't think it is any type of done deal at this point.

My biggest concern about Verner is that he primarily covered #2 and #3 receivers during his tenure with the Titans. Are the Jets getting him as #1 corner or are they keeping Dee there after his strong finish to last season?

Most likely Verner would be the #1 while Milliner handles the #2. That's my thinking at least.

    lmao "im getting word"

There is no handshake deal and the jets wont be signing Verner. There are to many DB needy teams for jets to cough up the check he will get.

If it is true then I will give them pub so everyone can check them out and boost their ratings.

This post is total BS. Get the facts straight. There was no handshake deal. It was a wink wink

I have word that the reason we have not released Sanchez is because we are in the midst of a trade with New Orleans for Brees. Straight up Sanchez for Brees.

I can't tell you all who my source is yet but if it comes true I will
