I dunno, since McD mailed it in in his mourning-cally game, it seems like 24 has been in the rearview mirror and everyone has moved on. Are people still hung up on this? I'm not seeing any martydomism
Did you see the letters to the NY Post this weekend? http://nypost.com/2014/03/09/sound-off-trade-of-callahan-a-mistake/
3 comments in the post? lol Common man, most people have moved on. There's always going to be a handful that will complain for the next 20 years
Players are going to come and go constantly. When it comes down to it, you support a team over an individual. I always thought highly of Callahan. This situation doesn't sour my opinion of him at all. Not once did the process change his all-out style on the ice. It's a bummer that he got traded, but you know what, the team is in a better position to win-now than they were.
ok, yes they won yesterday, and by nature I am an upbeat non towel throwing in son of a gun, but when I watch these guys I see some great skaters, some flash, which by the way is a nice change, but nobody has the courage to go to the net or to try and park it right there in front to screen the goalie. so what you have is a soft team who although they make some pretty plays out there, most of the shots are not deadly high percentage scoring chances. ryan McD is the rangers best player right now. side note*- has anyone been paying attention to Artem Anisimov? he's got 19 goals, and 4 of his last 5 have been game winners, and they have all been top 10 highlight goals. he's a big body the rangers could use, I know, I know, flame away at me, but he was a rookie when he was here, the guy is playing ridiculously well..................
Andrew Gross@AGrossRecord19 hrs Per Elias Sports Bureau, Lundqvist is the fifth fastest goalie to record 300 wins (he's done it in 560 regular-season games).
AA has 1 goal less than Nash...hahaha...this team is softer than my dogs cow puckies and so is AA, Tommy this team has gotten even smaller and less grittier nice job Slats...
Bingo..end of story...and if its also because his feelings were hurt because of other contracts...just look at that the stat books the past few years. Or maybe its "he gives more then whats on the stat sheet". We are talking hockey right? Love the guy..havent thought twice about it.
He also gives a lot to hospital wards which is a direct result of his gutty, yet dangerous, style of play.
lol..which is probably the reason for not wanting to sign with the greatest franchise in the world..one you are the captain for...while averaging a goal every 7 or 8 games. Again...loved the guy..but ever since the shouler injury nobody can even say he was a game changer because of his heart. He hit less..blocked shots less. He is a great 4 or 5 million dollar a year guy that someone will pay close to 7 for this offseason.
Just checked his career stats. He played 45 games last year..and so far had played 45 games this year for the Rangers. His hits are down 20 percent..blocked shots down 20 percent...ok..change in style from the HC? Ok. His +/-. He has been negative 6 out of his past 7 years. Penalty minutes. Average 70 games a season before 2013. Averaged 53 PM a season. Past 2 years he had played 45 games a season for the Rangers. He has had 12 minutes last year and 16 minutes this year. Smarter player? Come on..he just wasnt the same guy on the ice anymore. Nobody can say he brought the same energy since the shoulder injury. He just wasnt the same guy on the ice. He rarely came on the ice the past 2 years and set the tone with hitting...rarely if ever.
oh sorry, PC police. I meant to say, he doesn't play physically. Sorry if I offended you or any gay folk smh
I'm worried that the Staal negotiations are going to carry over into the season next year. I don't think the big issue will be the money. Give him a little bit north of 5.5 and six years. The sticking point will be does he want to stay with the Rangers or play with his brothers. If he wants to play with his brothers, then get a trade going with Carolina in the offseason so the Rangers can recoup some picks and bring in someone in free agency to play the #2 LHD role. I don't really think it matters if he stays. I like Staal, but he can never stay healthy and he is only a #2 LHD. I'd rather the Rangers trade him to get Carolina's 2015 first round pick, and hope Carolina is awful next year so the Rangers get a chance to draft Eichel or McDavid.
Door-stop in for Carcillo, I guess we were doing too good, they had to try something to stop our streak....
I don't know why Matt. The team was playing well. This is the pro's. Everyone doesn't deserve a turn. If there are better players, then you sit. Falk understands his role. Why can't Dorsett understand his? There is now someone better at his role than he is, so he needs to sit.
Sanchize, the best part was when AV moved him up to play with Richards and Kreider, he doesn't deserve to play at all, he offers nothing
I don't get it, Dorsett brings nothing to the table. When Carcilo is in the lineup, at least they win.
