What do we do if Golden Tate re-signs with the Seahawks, Nicks re-signs with the Giants, and Sanders signs with the Lions? I like James Jones, but everyone left after that is pretty much a JAG...

NY Post reports Jets are interested in Verner. If only we drafted him in the fourth round instead of Kyle Wilson in the first...sigh Verner is going to want at least 9 million a year after Grimes signed for 8 mil a year at 31 years old

Verner had 2 fumble recovers last year, tied for the same amount as the ENTIRE Jets defense

FRs are often circumstantial. I'm more looking at his 23 pass defenses and 5 INTS. That was more than any CB on the Jets. Cromartie had 9 plus 3 INTS, 13 plus 3 in 2012 when healthy, Wilson had 2 and 0, and Milliner lead us with 17 and 3. He would be an upgrade for sure, he just might not come cheap. If we sign him, you can pretty much assume Cromartie is gone. Isn't Cro hitting the cap for like 15 mil this season? If we can sign Verner for 8 it seems worth it. Cro could also restructure and Kyle Wilson could get bumped. Milliner is the future of the position on the team, though.

Idk about you guys but cb really worries me right now. Cro is getting older, with injury problems, dee isn't proven, Wilson is average, and probably going into his last jets season. Behind that we have good depth guys at best.

So the way i see it with the corners on the team, i feel like only dee will still be with us in 2 years or so.

if they sign verner… cromartie is the man out.. milliner is not playing the slot neither is cro or verner..wilson would not be bumped unless there is someone else who covers the slot

huh? milliner really came on at the end of the year.. cro is looking like he's going to be replaced by a younger better cb,,, and wilson is a slot corner who does his job well

I was just making a joke regarding the fumble recoveries. Verner would definitely be an upgrade but I think he's going to want 10 million a year and I'm not sure it's worth it when we could just re-sign Cromartie for half that and maybe get a bounce back year from him. 2 of Verner's 5 picks came against Geno, so take that for its worth. Wilson is with us at least another year, because he's entering the last year on his deal. He's been pretty decent in the slot lately which is good, but we still aren't sure what we have in Milliner. But if Idzik feels signing Verner is worth it for us, then let him do it. If we sign him then we wouldn't have to worry about drafting another corner in the first few rounds again and can focus on drafting offense/safety/linebacker

i feel like wilson is going to have a bryan thomas like career with us. be good enough to be a contributor for 10 years but kind of a disappointment because he was a first round pick
