As usual I am right. Again, Favre couldn't make the SB w/ more talented teams in '07 and '09 in systems he knew, in places he wanted to play but he was going to take us to the SB?:rofl2: he didn't want to be here, he didn't work hard enough. The injury didn't help but it didn't kill us, what did kill us was his awful decision making which killed us most of the year but we got away w/ it b/c of the creampuff schedule.
ok, your point? the sched was a joke despite beating the one and done Titans. Miami went from 1-15 to 11-5 w/ a similar sched. The 2009 or 2010 Jets would have at least been in the title game if not winning it. the 2008 jets couldn't make the playoffs.
I don't. I don't think Sanchez was developed properly. Development comes with the proper care I suggested earlier, he had the most of the three things around him (o-line, weapons and consistency in coaching) in 2010 but the talent and consistency eroded around him. He was developed poorly. I think Idzik gets it and we have some great coaching this time around. A good QB gets a lot of reps from experience, unless you can get a guarantee like Luck why bother throwing him in there when it would take reps away from Geno?
Nice piece from Gil Brandt here (apologies if posted on other threads): http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...how-he-is-new-york-jets-answer-at-quarterback
Interesting read, I'd still probably draft a QB with the 4th round compensation pick. There is no harm in getting a decent backup.
To me if Geno cuts down on those turnovers he has a real solid season last year. And many of them were rookie moves. I feel good about Geno going forward. But I'm all about bringing someone else in to challenge him. I think it should be his job to lose in a competition.
You need a veteran there. Simms should eventually go. QB Depth Chart 1- Geno 2- Vet (McCown, Shaun Hill, Vick, etc) 3- developmental QB (Mettenberger, Fales, Murrary)
If geno played on the road like he did at home we would have made the playoffs last year. horrible road performances can be somewhat attributed to being a rookie. i think starting geno is the way to go. i think if he starts we might make the playoffs this year (not because of geno, but because he less terrible enough so that we can still be in games and win). either way its irrelevant. this is still a rebuilding year. play the young guys
I know Geno had some bad games, but he looked pretty good at the end of the season. He wasn't making as many risky throws. If he can play like that next year, with an improved supporting cast we should be contending for the playoffs. We won 8 games with this team, with some close losses, just need to improve by 2 more wins
I would be thrilled if this is where we are going. I would like any of those Vets but prefer Vick since he knows the system.
