He's only played a full 16 games 5 times in 10 years and his last 2 years have 32TD 26INT ratio 5 of them being pick 6s. On the wrong side of 30? No thanks.
Your right. It's not really that close. But you've got it the wrong way around. There is nothing to prove Mark is better then Schaub. There are many things to prove Schaub is better then Mark.
Matt Schaub is nothing but a stat guy, he hasn't won a damn thing w/ probably the most talented team in the AFC. he's had Andre Johnson and great RBs to take pressure off something Mark has never had. I don't like #s guys, I like guys that make plays to win. If we had Matt Schaub in 2009/2010 we don't make a title game.
With the 2nd best all around RB in the league, and one of the best WRs to play in the last decade? What do you think would happen if Shaub didn't have BOTH of those? How about despite that, and having a serviceable defense for most of his career he's only lead his team to the post season once, and exited gracefully after one win at home.
He's led his team to the playoff's twice (He had that 2011 team at 7-3 before he got hurt, his absence hurt that team) and he's 1-1 in the playoffs. None of which means much of anything. It doesn't define his individual performance. Your going to take Schaub's success and place it squarely on the feet of those around him while giving the actual player no credit to try and prove Mark is better. Because the only argument for Mark being better most people have is "well the Jets made it to the title games in 09 and 10". He was a 3rd round pick who the Texans traded 2 second round picks for. The guy has talent. You can't just discredit him and give all the credit to Andre Johnson. He's only 1 guy lol.
most of these arguments are our own personal opinions. I have seen enough of Matt Schaub to know I'd be ok w/ him as a backup but I wouldn't want him starting and I know I'd rather have Mark Sanchez who has never had half the talent around him that Schaub has had. 2010 playoffs div rd at NE Mark carves up a better Pats team than the won Schaub couldn't do a thing against until garbage time in 2011.
Different years, different teams. The Jets defense was also very good that game. Mark was good, so was the D.
Once, TJ Yates was the other. 7-3 is not a playoff team, there's still a lot of football that needed to be played. Additionally what Yate's was able to do with the team when Shaub was hurt should show how little he had to do. I don't care about individual performance, He had the surrounding cast and the window closed around him without him ever being able to take his team to the next level. I don't care if you throw 1000 TDs in that time, "Don't want." Wrong poster, I just said "Don't want" - Not comparing anyone. fixed that for you.
If your going to play semantics then your right. 7-3 is not a playoff team. But Schaub started the majority of the games for that team. Not TJ Yates. Schaub did the large majority of the work. Yates came in and went 2-3 but because Schaub had that team at a strong 7-3 record and Leinart won a game he threw 13 passes in they were able to make the playoffs. Sanchez never took his teams to the next level either. Had very strong overall teams. We talk about Mark likes he's this great winner. He's 33-29 as a QB, yes the team won 4 games in the playoffs while he was behind center but he's below average as a player. Nothing more. "With the 2nd best all around RB in the league, and one of the best WRs to play in the last decade? What do you think would happen if Shaub didn't have BOTH of those?" Are you not Ajitator? Fair enough your not comparing Mark and Schaub but your insinuating that the guy has good numbers based on the talent around him and not his own actual talent or performance. Ben Tate and Owen Daniels are now great players? JJ Watt is awesome. Mark had Revis and a really strong cast of good defensive players and a top tier O-Line on his teams as well. What's your point? Your "correction" makes no sense.
Again, You're arguing with the wrong poster, I'm WAS NOT comparing anyone. I just DON'T want Shaub Since you insist though I will compare them - Mark got 1 game farther into the playoffs ( with his team strengths having less then stellar games ), twice, In half as many years. Before getting injured by a dumb decision in preseason he's missed 1 game since entering the league. Whether he's has a better career to date then Mark is irrelevant. Mark has a higher chance to succeed from this point on in this league then Shaub does.
I edited my post, I guess after you quoted it. I edited it saying "Fair enough your not comparing Mark and Schaub but your insinuating that the guy has good numbers based on the talent around him and not his own actual talent or performance." I don't care about the second line of what you wrote, basically because it means very little. All that proves is that the Jets were better then the Texans. And the only reason Mark has a "higher chance to succeed" is because he's younger. But younger doesn't make you good....
Not at all but you keep smoking whatever your smoking. Mark is done in this league now as a starter. There is no logical argument you can make to back up that he has a higher chance to succeed then Schaub. Schaubs age is irrelevant considering there is many decent QBs in the league now in their 30s still.
So Andre Johnson and Arian Foster would make Mark a more accurate QB? You guys need to quit using team success as an individual stat. And lol at using Sanchez as a benchmark for winning. Unless you make back 2 back title games then you aren't really winning? So Neil O'Donnell must have been a good QB by this meteoric right?
Profootball focus reporting that there is still a big chance that Sanchez signs a cheaper deal with us. Muy Bueno!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
