Yeah it wasn't a clear connection since he looked different. http://starcasm.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/True_detective_Lawnmower_Man_Errol_scar.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xdgzYWv.png From these two pics of him (didn't insert into post due to kind of spoilers) you can see the angle we get of him first is not the side of the scars and he's got some facial hair.
Yup--good find. Kind of figured, it would have been way too coincidental. And you know what they say about coincidences and detective work _
This sucks man. I'm pumped to see next week's episode but I'm also pissed because it's the last we will see of them together :/ Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Great ending. Many people including myself thought way too much into the details. It was just one story..the oldest...light versus dark. Mcconaughey won the Emmy 5 minutes before the show concluded
what did that mean? light vs dark? I was just so paying attention to that emmy/golden globe worthy performance of his in the last 5 minutes that I just got caught up with his emotions
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS You really shouldn't be reading this thread the night of the finale if you want to avoid spoilers, but just thought of adding them to be nice Perfectly great ending. The story was always realistic and adhered to real life rules, so need for some unbelievable twist. They got their guy, the key piece, and got out alive. I think light vs dark is just good vs evil? The simplest story
Yup light versus dark is good versus evil. The original story. When Mcconaughey said "I said darkness...yeahhh" I think that became the new alright alright alright. And this...
awesome. Rust finding hope/"something there" after being such a bitter nihilist the whole series was beautiful. I suspect after this experience he'll probably give buddism a try. Lol at Reddit/other internet athiests being bitter at this ending. u mad bros? Just one story man..light vs dark. Haven't experienced something this profound since The Wire. Even if HBO doubled their prices I wouldn't think twice about paying. I don't know how S2 will even live up to this. But in Nick I trust.
Awesome ending. What was with the weird cosmos type thing Rust was looking at before he got stabbed? And the guys voice booming all over the little cavern? That shit did seem a little supernatural
^^ Rust sees hallucinations. It was brought up earlier that episode I think and in one of the first episodes. That's what I thought that to be. I assumed a PA system or something he was using but maybe it was some supernatural type thing to show up his evil
Rust was describing a classic NDE. BTW McConaughey is the best actor on the planet right now. Props to Woody hanging with him too.
Mcconaughey is perfect for the southern drama. I admit I was one of the people that thought he had become so obsessed with the case it drove him to commit the murder in 2012, in order to bring out the real killers. Definitely just one story though, and there will always be more.
Only weakness of the show, that they did a good job of hiding, was the villain. Kind of a big goofy, idiot. Everything leading up to him was so sinister, but then in the last episode, when they follow him a little, he just seems like a big dummy. Kind of had a hard time believing this is the guy evading police. Reminded me of the arachnid monster in Men in Black.
He was a big dummy because he was likely an inbred, and he didn't exactly have to evade the police when the police and the men in charge were covering it up. That Tuttle family tree/sprawl was too messed up
Just watched the last episode, very very well done. I like how it ended, pretty exciting finale. I'll probably rewatch it in about 6 months. _
I'm not sure he was just a big dummy, I think he showed in his rumblings in the house he was probably a pretty intelligent and conniving criminal. _
