Rotoworld is reporting that Byrd is linked with Tampa Bay because his father works in the secondary there. Also, Grimes has signed a new 4 year deal with Miami. Good signing for them Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-to-tag-orakpo-if-no-deal-signed-by-deadline/ Looks like Orakpo is not going to be available after all.
if we cut tone time, sanchez, and cro, we will have around 43,000,000 in cap space. we gotta spend some of that on a high impact player
http://thejetpress.com/2014/02/27/projected-salary-cap-number-keeps-rising-new-york-jets/ After cutting Holmes, Sanchez and Cro, we will have $51-$53 million to play with..
I think at this point we need to sign a safety, Jairus Byrd, and a couple WRs, Nicks and Sanders. That would be clutch Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
With some careful negotiating the Jets can probably lock up Mo Wilk and Kerley to decent mid-range 3-4 year deals. If they go get a few high priced free agents that possibility will go out the window.
If we end up releasing Cro I would love to bring in Verner. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/1119272/alterraun-verner He will be available and has great stats. 22 pass defensed last year and 5 picks. A couple years ago he had over 100 tackles which have gone down as teams stopped throwing his way. Hasn't missed a game in two years either.
Actually if you add in the 2nd string, figure Byrd is going to want at least as much as Goldson then the number is over $40M. Even if they get rid of Revis which I don't see happening, they would still have $23M tied up just in the safties. Cutting Goldson is $9M in dead money and zero cap savings, Barron would be $8.6M in dead money and would still count almost $5M against the cap. Way too many moves to be made for it to be feasible I would think.
If TB wat to trade Revis and the Pats let Talib walk.... I hope that the Pats dont trade for Revis... That would piss me right off!!!
Emmanuel Sanders is still #1 on my wish list. Dude is just about to enter his prime, and is quick with really good hands, has been healthy most of his career and can get YAC. We won't have to break the bank on him either. I feel that Idzik should focus on him as soon as FA begins. I'd only break the bank for an offensive weapon at this point. A good safety or corner would only really be necessary if Cro gets cut, rather than restructured. Cro & Milliner can become a very good unit, we could even possibly move Cro or Wilson to safety, as the young guy we draft this year develops.
i dont see Idzik breaking the bank for any of these guys...maybe a top wideout or cornerback. can't see him throwing the pay scale off for a safety.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 3m Bills announced they are not tagging S Jairus Byrd. Make it happen Idzik.
We have 50 million of cap space, and a gaping hole in the backfield... Idzik is stupid if he doesn't make a hard play at Byrd.
BREAKING: GM Doug Whaley has announced that the #Bills will not use the franchise tag in 2014 http://ow.ly/uccTk Idzik, March 11th!! Make it happen!!
