http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/v...Best-Guy/0d9311f1-8259-4f3c-a8b1-30f56cd10b67 I love the way this kid speaks, especially noticeable after Watkins, Lee, Evans interview. Starting 1:56. "The numbers speak for themselves." Who is the last player that spoke those words?
Jordan is cognizant of his own weaknesses just as much as his strengths, if not more. He's been an under-the-radar type guy his whole football career but I wouldn't be surprised if he actually preferred the Jets and Giants over all other teams, and not just ones on the East Coast.
I would take Matthews over both of them to be honest. I'm not on the Cooks bandwagon, the combine tends to hype players up that shouldn't be hyped. I think Cooks will be one of those players. We have an example of that on our roster in Stephen Hill. ( Cooks had a much better college career but it wasn't spectacular by any means. Not good enough to put him at the 18 spot. IMO) We'll see. Off Topic.. Why in the world did we ever draft Stephen Hill? I hate the combine sometimes.
The stats and game tape alone should have been enough to pass on the kid to begin with. He only had 1200 yds in three years of college football. That is terrible when you look at it. I understand the school, GT triple option, yada - yada, but it's tooooo risky to draft a kid like that when your roster is depleted of talent to begin with. Terrible pick.
There's no real game tape on Stephen Hill catching the football - Tanny made a fundamental mistake. Cooks has some fantastic film though too, he had a really good collegiate season. Matthews in the best college conference consistently put up good numbers. I feel sometimes people overlook the production they had in college for physical NFL potential and combine #s
Then there are players like Benjamin who had production and have physical NFL potential!! You are a Benjamin fan but just don't know it yet lol
The opposite happens just as often.I argued with several posters last year that jarvis jones had modest physical skills with no ceiling but folks could not get past the SEC production. The reality is it all matters to some degree but you can't just evaluate based on one & not the other
I'm really starting to like the idea if Jordan Matthews in green and white. He's very tough, runs great routes, and is highly intelligent. Those are the type of guys you need on thus team. I would have no problem with him at 18.
Allen Robinson is not and will not be valued anywhere near the #18 pick. If he is ranked as a 1st round prospect, it will be late 20s/early 30s. More than likely, he will be a 2nd round pick, and may be available when the Jets pick at #49. At this time, I would prefer that they don't take him. I'm not very high on him.
I'm actually warming up to this kid. I think he is a safe pick tbh I wouldn`t touch him at 18 though... If he is still there at 49 and depending what we do at 18 i think he is worth a look in that spot.
He is a very productive player, he has no one else on that team and he still puts up good numbers, he does not come from an option style offense, it's a 4 and 5 receiver set style offense. MM will use that style as Smith developes as a QB. He makes good adjustments while he is in the air and catches with his hands. He is going to be a very good WR.
