My shot at a Jet's Mock post combine.

I won't comment on my selections in this post, except Beckham. Beckham's performance at the combine has locked him in as a Mid Rd 1 prospect, my # 3 ranked WR prospect.

    8 offense 3 defense =11 picks.

Clearly Holmes was cut & Cromartie was not resigned in my scenario.

Your comments or questions welcome. I'll try to answer any concerns.

Rd 1) Odell Beckham JR, WR, LSU

Rd 2) Deone Bucannon, S, Washington St

Rd 3a) Keith McGill, CB, Utah

Rd 3b) Bruce Ellington, WR/KR, South Carolina

Rd 4) Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU

Rd 5) Jordan Tripp, OLB, Montana

Rd 5) (comp) Crockett Gillmore, TE, Colorado State

Rd 6) Mitch Schofield, OT/G, Michigan

Rd 6) (comp) Storm Johnson, RB, UCF

Rd 6) (comp) Cody Hoffman, WR, BYU

RD 7) Gabe Ikard, C/G, Oklahoma

Love it...Odell and Ellington are explosive and McGill has length. Tripp looked really good at the combine. Why do you prefer Buchanan over Jimmie Ward?

I like Ward, has an injury, but it doesn't effect his stock. There are a few Safeties that can go in rd 2, Ward & Reynolds were 2 I also considered. I just prefer Bucannon slightly more, but I'd take any of the 3.

The secondary was the liabiltiy of our defense last year, McGill and Bucannon would be great additions.

Also, LSU fans.....Jet's met with Beckham & Mettenberger at the Combine. Idzik also made a late visit to Baton Rouge for a Tiger game. There is no question LSU players are on their radar. Jarvis, Hill & Loston could be in play too.

That would be sick if Mettenberger fell to the 4th round. AND YES STORM JOHNSON FTW! Loved watching this guy ball out in the bowl game. He's a powerful runner, is patient and he can catch the football out of the backfield. And I didn't even mention he's got one of the coolest running-back names ever.

Gillmore showed some skills at the senior bowl. I'm licking my chops already yet we're still over 2 months away from the draft

Mettenberger could go in Rd 3, but his injury was pretty severe and he probably won't be ready (100%) by September. Type of player if was healthy could have been a Rd 1 pick, big QB similar to Big Ben.

He was a late arrival that week and showed solid receiving skills.

I like it. Beckham or Cooks is my ideal target for a receiver. Bucannon is very underrated, explodes to the ball, hits like a truck would learn a lot from Reed. McGill is a solid CB prospect, good size. Nice replacement for Cro. Ellington is a nice option for a second reveiver, explosive. Love the Mettenberger pick, he is a guy that will challenge Geno and already has chemistry with ODB. Gillmore improved his stock at the Senior Bowl but I don't see him as a starter for us immediately which is troubling because I don't think Cumberland is a starter either. I love the way Storm runs, RB isn't a huge need but good value in the later rounds. Hoffman and Ikard are both quality picks.

I honestly think we should take Marqise lee first round, Jordan matthews second round, Troy Niklas with tampa pick, best available safety third round and then Deanthony thomas somewhere in the rest of the draft, other than that I' d leave it up to Idzik's best judgement or BPA available.

Also would sign Jason worilds(olb), Verner/Davis/Shields/Thurmond(CBs)(one of them).and Jon asomoah(G) and Ben Tate(RB) and Vet qb(Vick, mccown, schaub)

I think if we did that we would have baisically all of our needs filled with about 7 picks undetermined to bring in some other serious talent

also think we should resign cumby and austin howard, maybe look at jermaine gresham if he is released(in that case dont resign cumby)

I really really want the Jets to take a WR/TE with our 1st but it just feels like it will be a D player that falls... Clinton-Dix cough cough

Beckham had a great combine as he should... He's a track guy, thats his thing... It worries me taking a player that had a really good WR playing along side of him that caught more passes and was more the go to guy on tape (Landry).

Beckham is a boom or bust pick at the next level which i like though..

I totally disagree. Beckham is not a boom or bust pick. I think he is one the safer WR picks. He showed steady progress and improvement at LSU, works to get better, has speed and explosiveness, good hands, excellent YAC skills.

Excellent draft, WW85. I'd be ecstatic with Beckham. Like the rest of the players and the positions addressed. Adding an excellent S prospect like Bucannon would be great and would help our D immensely. I might prefer Ward because of his ball skills, but would be very happy with Bucannon. Mettenberger would be a steal in the 4th round.

He as those skills yes BUT him being a #2 guy in Collage doesn't sit well with me... If he wasn't even the go to guy for LSU how will he be the go to guy at the next level... It's got boom or bust written all over him.

Either he will be Victor Cruz or Ted Ginn

You can't really say that. Every OC has his own plan for how he likes to use players. Even so, that was college. He is 3x the prospect Landry is for the NFL. I think he has a chance to be much better than Cruz, and no way he's Ginn.

Mixed feelings, what's your FA look like with this plan? Think the answer makes or breaks it.

Nice draft. You really seemed to really focus on areas of need, and thankfully, this draft has a lot of what we need! I'm not sold on Beckham at #18 over guys like Matthews, Lee and Cooks because of his lack of college production, but the speed and skills are definitely there. I also like taking a second WR in the third round, but would hope that we could do better than Ellington. I don't see Mettenberger being there in the 4th and think he's long gone in the third. Gillmore was everywhere catching everything in the Senior Bowl game and would be a great late round pick up. Tripp would also be a nice value in the 5th.

You really have absolutely no clue what you're talking about.

Boom or bust and you like it???

Playing next to Landry doesn't hurt Beckham's draft status.

Beckham a track Guy??....You're embarrassing yourself. Beckham is much more a polished football player than your man crush Benjamin.

I have no problem with you disagreeing with my selections. Do a little more research before you hit the send button.

I've been studying the draft for over 25 years and been on this site for 10 years, I don't post anything without researching it first. Just a suggestion to help you.

Beckham can do it all, catch, run (better than JL) and return kicks. He's more elusive after the catch than Landry. Landry's timed speed is going to hurt his draft stock.

#2 Guy, who is #1...not JL.

I'm not saying either is a #1 WR in LSU's offense, but Landry isn't considered #1 over Beckham. They play complimentary roles.

    Cruz or Ginn...What??
