    But Geno sucks?

I'd take Bridgewater above Geno and that's it.

I'm not a firm believer in what Simms says there are maybe 2 or 3 at most I would take over Geno - Actually I would take Geno over Manziel no doubt. Geno has a better arm.

Geno's last 4 games were pretty good despite the team's lack of talent.

This is funny. He would probably be the 5th QB off the board.

Teddy, Manziel, Carr and Bortles then maybe Geno. But maybe not.

I would take Bridgewater over him, Manziel is a bit more of a gamble: could be far better or complete junk. Not sold on some of the other guys though. So I could see him being 2nd or 3rd I'm this draft.

based merely on his college play, and future potential based on his size and strength, Smith really is the top of the QB board this year with Bridgewater. I'd certainly take Smith over Manziel. but if Bortles played in a better conference and had more luster to his accomplishments he would be above them all.

Gotta love these combine heroes lol That's all secondary to what they can do on the field. I'd put Geno behind Manziel, Bridgewater and Bortles.

Yeah I disagree, I would rather have that 1st draft pick than Geno on our team. Those QBs are likely better imo, you dont see the Texans trying to trade for Geno right now do ya? They would laugh.

I doubt he is right, although we should all hope he is.

Geno has a lot of potential, its up to the Jets to surround him with talent so he can realize that potential.

Phil Simms is a clown,he also said there isn't a real franchise QB in the draft. He's only saying that because his son plays for the Jets

Are you kidding me? How would it sound if he dumped on Smith?

Simms sounds like he's following the party line for the team. His son's situation is not improved if the Jets reach for ANY Qb, whether FA or the draft. Matt's best shot is to remain the backup to a weak Smith, hope Smith does not improve, and Matt gets another shot.

    I was not born yesterday.

Ej Manuel as a 1st round pick looks like a mistake.

I had no problem with drafting Geno in the 2nd round. If he fails it wont kill the franchise as much as a 1st round pick would. Its still not a good thing because then we essentially wasted a pick, but you can live with a 2nd round QB busting, you cannot live with a 1st round QB busting, that will cost any GM his job in the long term.

I wouldn't go that far at all. Simms is stretching big time.
At the same time the people bashing him as not belonging in the conversation are wrong as well. They are blinded by this year's performance as a NYJ instead of looking at Geno Smith the prospect from WV which is really the heart of this question.

I think he would definitely rank behind Bridgewater and Manziel. I'd rank him on par with Bortles, depending on a team's preferences it could go either way with him. Ahead of everyone else, though.

The only guy in this draft that I feel is clearly above Geno Smith is Teddy Bridgewater and that's like 5% above. I could see a team taking Manziel over him for the selling power and because they like Manziel's skill set more than Geno's. If Bortles were a senior and had another strong year he'd be in the running also.
