It's insane how deep this WR draft class is. If we can snag 2 WR's and a TE, our offense will be so much better than last year.
Just finished watching it all and this is my take on the day (WR only): - Mike Evans looked like the best WR out there today his combo of size, speed and hands will be lethal in the NFL. - Cooks really showed his speed, explosiveness and safe hands - Sammy looked good but not great he needs to show more on his pro day if he's going to be a top 5 pick - Really liked Adams and what he brings to the table. Very polished. - Beckam looked like a NFL ready player that has all the tools - Benjamin was by far the biggest physical freak. He looked like a DE with good hands and speed. - M. Bryant really surprised me and could be a steal in the draft. - Janis is a player that intrigued me with his size and speed. - Moncrief had a solid day and boosted his stock with his speed and size. - Mathews also showed up today and had a great day. Looked polished. - Robinson had the best body control out there and looks like he's NFL ready. - Lee was good but not great... Not sold on this player
It seems that Jarvis Landry wasn't expected to test well, but I wonder how much his workout numbers (4.77 40-time, 28-inch vertical, 12 bench reps) will hurt his stock
He had a bad day no doubt BUT his main attribute is his hands and after he pulled something he had to shut it down... His pro day will be huge for him
Moss was no slouch as a prospect but I think cooks is, better.Much tougher against the jam & more physical. He also didnt play next to Reggie Wayne & Andre Johnson
I like this small school larry webster kid. 6"5 260 4.58 & showed good movement skills.SJupposively had a big week at east-west His father played for ravens & you know Rex loves small schoolers. He has everything Rex loves in a OLB prospect plus the balty connection
I'm on the fence between Lee and Cooks. I was watching highlights of Cooks' combine workouts and he's a Wes Welker clone with better speed. Add to that I've watched him several times over the last two seasons at OSU and he just moves the chains constantly. I like Lee too but I think Cooks produces from Day 1. Slightest of edges to Cooks but I'd be happy with Lee too.
I was very high on Lee but after watching cooks play a little he's a lot more physicalnthan I thought. He will go and make some catches in traffic that you wouldn't expect someone his size to make.
Cooks will best serve as a slot receiver at the next level - we already that player in Kerley. I don't see this guy winning on the outside on a daily basis. I want someone that can beat press coverage each and every down with excellent technique, physical and has good hands. Jordan Matthews is my guy for sure. Big fan of Davonte Adams, Mike Evans and Allen Robinson.
Not blind at all bud.. I have seen both play and my love and dislike is justified if you know what ur watching.
Cooks is tough enough to play outside. The only issue with his size is that the jets already have kerley & may another smallish guy in emmanuel sanders. We dont need to end up with a smurf wr corps or be forced into a bigger wr with a later pick should they go that route
He will best succeed in that position. Every scouting report I've seen it always goes back to press coverage. I just don't want a team full of small wide-outs, I would love to mix and match. I would like some more physicality at the position.
i like Van Noy but for me he's a 2nd rounder and if he falls to us in that slot i would be fine with us taking him there.
