Well if that's what you're expecting then you'll be waiting a long time as his team plays in the NFC . Secondly, not only is your expectation a falsehood but it's also unrealistic. The greatest coaches in the history of the sport didn't get to the champ. game every year so the bar that you're setting is a pipe dream. Of course he's elite. When you take a team that underperforms and turn them into a perennial SB contender that is called elite coaching. There's a only a handful of coaches in the game who are and Harbaugh is one of them. You want to talk about personnel that he inherited? Well how about the personnel that he drafted? Like one of the most dynamic young players in the game. Not only an elite coach but great evaluator of QB talent.

Cakes was wrong, you still sound like a 12 year old.

But I digress--your question is one that would have been asked by a 12 year old. Who's a better coach, ie., one guy has 2 SBs and the other does not, therefore Coughlin is better, right?

Wrong, Coughlin had more ultimate success but he's been a head coach for nearly 20 years with a .550% career winning percentage and has missed the playoffs so many times I can't count them. Harbaugh has only been a head coach for 3 years and has a .760% career winning percentage and has never missed the playoffs.

You picked huge sample size versus small sample size, like a child.

Harbaugh right now is a better coach.

Here's a better question for you. One with more relevance and a better sample size.

Who's a better coach, Coughlin of Belichick?

If you say Belichick then you've shot a huge whole in your idiotic narrative because head-to-head, isn't the goal to win the SB?

And if you say Coughlin, well, you just sound like a moron.

When you get to college, you might want to steer clear of any of those courses that involve logic, deductive reasoning, analytics and definitely stay away from pre-law. You'll get eaten up.

    I'm thinking pottery for you.

One dynamic that Jstokes fails to realize is that a head coach needs to have a working relationship with his General Manager.
Actually I have done great in all of those classes thank you.

    1. Nice comeback but irrelevant to the narrative.

    2. That's what you get for going to Community College.

    3. Don't avoid the question, answer it. Who's better, Coughlin or Belichick?

Oh and to answer the question, yes Bill Belichick is a better head coach than Tom Coughlin.

I don't agree with the logic, but how would he shoot a hole in his narrative if he chose Belichick? His narrative was winning the SB. Bill has 3, Tom only has 2.

And the thing that JStokes completely fails to realize as he praises Jim Harbaugh, he completely ignores history. You can sit there and say all you want that Harbaugh will have a better career than Carroll but right now Carroll has completed the job. Jim Harbaugh has not completed the goal that 31 other head coaches have accomplished in the history of the NFL, and that is to win the Super Bowl. History doesnt lie, and Harbaugh is no exception.

When was the last time a Super Bowl losing head coach rebounded and won the Super Bowl?...... Lets take a look

    Jim Harbaugh - No
    Bill Belichick - No
    Mike Tomlin - No
    Jim Caldwell - No
    Ken Wisenhunt - No
    Bill Belichick - No
    Lovie Smith - No
    Mike Holmgreen - No
    Andy Reid - No
    John Fox - No
    Bill Callahan - No
    Jim Fassel - No
    Jeff Fisher - No
    Dan Reeves - No
    Mike Holmgreen - No
    Bill Parcells - No
    Bill Cowher - Yes
    Bobby Ross- No
    Marv Leevy - No
    Marv Leevy - No
    Marv Leevy - No
    Marv Leevy - No
    Dan Reeves - No
    Dan Reeves - No
    Raymond Berry - No
    Don Shula - No

At the end of the day Harbaugh will be judged by championships, not by how many times he blew opportunities. 25 of the last 26 Super Bowl losing head coaches have all been unsuccessful in winning a Super Bowl after losing one and you are trying to tell me Harbaugh is an exception? or do you just ignore Super Bowl wins? You can sit here and say Harbaugh has done more than Carroll has, but at the end of the day Caroll has a Super Bowl win which is definitely not an accomplishment that Harbaugh is guarenteed to achieve. So until Harbaugh actually does win one, lets not assume he is going to win one because history is certainly not on his side, and at the end of the day, if you are going to rank a head coach that doesnt have a ring over a head coach that actually does, you are on the losing side of the arguement.

So now go ahead Jstokes, use all your wordy posts to try and explain how I am wrong, downplay a Super Bowl win all you want, but just know this, I actually use facts to support my argument, unlike you who just uses your opinion.

lol so your argument is that getting to a SB and losing it means you are less likely to win one? Not sure that that list is anything more than coincidence and the randomness of winning in the playoffs.

Lets look at guys who have won a Super Bowl and see if they were able to win one afterwards:

    John Harbaugh-No
    Tom Coughlin-No
    Mike McCarthy-No
    Sean Payton-No
    Mike Tomlin-No
    Tom Coughlin-Yes
    Tony Dungy-No
    Bill Cowher-No
    Bill Belichick-No
    Bill Belichick-Yes
    Jon Gruden-No
    Bill Belichick-Yes
    Brian Billick-No
    Dick Vermeil-No
    Mike Shanahan-No
    Mike Shanahan-Yes
    Mike Holmgren-No
    Barry Switzer-No
    George Seifert-No
    Jimmy Johnson-No
    Jimmy Johnson-Yes

I'm not going to continue going back further but you get the point. The fact is that most coaches don't win the super bowl and aside from the great ones, most don't win more than 1 Super Bowl so your point is irrelevant. Maybe you could actually discuss specifically why you think Carroll is better than Harbaugh instead of throwing out anecdotal evidence and meaningless platitudes.

But you probably won't because you aren't capable. That and I have a personal vendetta against your lame posts.

Alright i'm not putting up with your attacks against me. Its personal because you made it personal, I have argued with plenty of people on here, but between you and JetBlue, you have launched attacks on me by attempting to call me names and throw around words that are not necessary at all. If you are going to have a personal attack against me then its personal, simple as that. I don't have a problem with anyone on this board, if you cant handle an argument without resorting to such tactics then don't argue in the first place. Just because you don't agree with my points does not mean you have attack me.

Look up the word duplicitous. And then use it in a sentence with the word moron. As in "Soxx is a duplicitous moron".

Now go look up what non sequitur means.

Honestly, you can't have an adult rational logical discussion without resorting to being a child.

Oh, and about your PM about my brothers being NYPD cops and whether they like it, whether it's for you?

HAHAHAHAAAAA. Yeah, they liked it but they are both tough sonsabitches. You'd get eaten alive.

Please stop being a child or at least stop mentioning my name in your posts, it makes me feel somehow culpable for your stupidity.

History has not been finally and definitively written.

If you think Carroll is a better coach than Harbaugh then you're a bigger moron than I give you credit for.

Again with the name calling, LMAO, the 12 year old mentality kicks in again.

See folks, when he gets mad and cant prove his point he has to resort to name calling in order discredit me, because he can't discredit me with facts.

What facts are you posting? I must have missed those. You do a pretty good job of discrediting yourself by your lack of meaningful discussion

You discredited your own argument with your own facts. I just pointed out how stupid you looked doing so.

Calling you 12 is an insult to 12 year olds.

One of the most childish nonsensical posters on the board. And then fails to discuss his faulty points.

You should have seen him in the Sharper thread lol-worthy.
