http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/21/sources-browns-nearly-traded-for-jim-harbaugh/ Kinda crazy if this is true, I have heard of bad blood between the GM and Harbaugh but not to this extent.
49ers have knocked on the door two years running now. The SF management team may have decided that Harbaugh can't get them over the top. If there's bad blood between Balke and Harbaugh that could be the case.
can't get them over the top? 2 title game losses that they easily could have won and a SB they easily could have won. It's not like they aren't competing in those games. Harbaugh is the best coach in the league.
SF wouldn't have gotten to 3 straight NFCCG without Harbaugh. There's about 30 other teams in the league that would love to have him. He's a pompous jackass but an elite HC.
he's the best coach in the league, instantly turned SF from mediocre to title contenders, 3 title games in a row, the scandal/injuries this year and kept the team together and they were a play away from another SB.
harbaugh does act like a jerk and most people don't like him but all he does is win. turned Stanford into a top program, turned the 49ers back into a top franchise.
Harbaugh has a big ego and probably felt he could turn the Browns around like he did with San Fran but this is definitely odd considering 49ers are still a fierce team with an above average roster. Maybe he's still pissed he had to draft AJ Jenkins in the first round.
Cleveland has talent, w/ the right coach they can be a playoff team this coming season. we'll see what Pettine can do.
That would have been a real big F-U to Harbaugh considering he'd have been traded to Siberia and in his brother's division no less.
All Cleveland is really missing is a stable quarterback and a running back. I think they want Hoyer to be the starter next year and wouldn't put it past them to draft Watkins at #4. Gordon and Watkins? Oy
The thing I dont get though is why Harbaugh would want to go to a team that is giving up draft picks to get him. Those draft picks will be needed in order to rebuild.... Does anyone know when Harbaugh's contract ends? is it possible he might actually bolt next year? Apparently he wants full control of an organization which the 49ers wont allow but a team like the Browns likely would.
Pete Carroll. I don't recall Harbaugh getting his team's to play at a level we just saw the Seahawks playing at.
Exactly the response I would expect from a child who looks at absolutes and doesn't understand the nuances of what happens in any given game. You realize Barry Switzer beat Bill Cowher in a Super Bowl? Geez, you are one of the most immature and childish posters on this board. Get off the internet, go get a book and maybe buy a clue. I weepz for the children. _
I wouldn't call him elite just yet. You see the personnel he inherited? Although this was a team that underperformed under Singletary, he inherited a stacked team on all aspects of the ball. I expect nothing less than them reaching the AFC Championship game every year.
