Yes,. I am asking you to get a video of it. I do watch the plays and am disagreeing with what you're saying. Either don't bring your opinion to the table or have something to back it up when someone questions it. Just coming in here and saying "It's all his plays, he sucks ass all the time" doesn't do it for me. If it's so obvious it shouldn't take you long to find a clip that clearly demonstrates his inabilities. I can wait till you're at home and can do the research yourself, As you can see in my posts whenever I say something subjective or opinionated, if someone questions it, ( or even when they don't ) I try to back it up with examples or stats allowing others to view for themselves and make their own opinions. Saying something that's as subjective as "Lazy routes" and then claiming to not need to demonstrate it to prove a point doesn't work for me.
Took a quick search of "Practice Squad Eligibility" to get that result.... You came in here saying to put the guy onto a part of the roster he's not eligible for calling him a waste of space. If you're not going to intellectually add to the conversation and are just going to drive by and drop your uninformed opinion don't be expected to be treated with utmost respect, Sorry friend.
So Let me get this straight. Because I asked you to back up your point so that we could all see what you're talking about and maybe learn a little bit ( because to be honest you do sound like you know what your talking about ), I'm an idiot who's in love with a football player. If he does it in every play it would take you all of 3 seconds to do a seach for Stephen Hill video to demonstrate. Saying that I would then still disagree is irrelevant. If you have an opinion based on what you're seeing when he plays you should easily be able to back up that opinion. No need to get all defensive about it and insult people. That's a dick head thing to do.
I'd be shocked if he didn't make the roster opening day. At the very worst, he can be a depth receiver with size and deep speed. Maybe the light turns on. Probably not. But unless this team unearths some real gems as UDFAs at WR, it's hard to see the Jets cutting Hill.
Fair enough, I'm absolutely not going to waste my time looking for a video proving something that I disagree with. You said "obtuse" not idiot, and said "It's most of his plays. It's the way he runs." not "sucks ass all the time" apologies for paraphrasing but that doesn't change the fact that you can't handle someone disagreeing with you without getting all butt hurt about it. All I asked for was an example to visually show what you were trying to explain because to be honest I don't really follow what you're saying as it pertains to someone running a route and it sounded like you did. Apparently I was incorrect in assuming you weren't just here to run your mouth and actually had something knowledgeable to add to the discussion. Your irreproachable "opinion" and dismissive tone in your posts is unbecoming, You'll get along great with most of the posters here.
Hah,.. like-wise,.. friend. Welcome to the board. Silly me I thought I was actually trying to learn something from a discussion on this board lol.
I'm shocked that the guy with the Stephen hill avatar is calling people who thinks he blows tools. shocked.
My avatar is irrelevant and I've backed up all of my posts with reasoning and stats and tried to have an open discussion. I was sincerely trying to figure out exactly what he was talking about with "Lazy Routes" because I don't know. I didn't attack anyone or call anyone a tool. I'm shocked the guy with the female dog as his avatar is acting like well,.. you know. Thanks for your completely useless input in the thread though... Great contribution as always.
Look, guys. Since I am currently in education business [academic instructor] let me tell you something. Have you ever seen a kid, who was so eager and stoked to fail the class? I have been teaching for some time now, and I have never seen a single soul who rejoiced in failing the given subject. Never. What does that mean? If the kid consistently fails, even with all the good intentions in the world, maybe - just maybe, the instruction he got is a flat out failure, no? Ok - maybe he is not good enough to compete at higher level. That also is a possibility, but let's not get into that. If he was good enough to be drafted in the NFL, he is certainly good enough to compete there. [as in if Jets didn't draft him in 2nd, he could have been drafted later down the road somewhere - he wouldn't have gone undrafted.] Thus, at least in my eyes, it is not a problem of talent, attitude or mentality. It is more or less the proper techniques that should have been taught. The picture above accentuates this problem rather nicely. In short, my conclusion is simple three words: FUCK OFF, LAL!
To begin to figure out the Stephen Hill conundrum you have to ask yourself what he was really asked to do in college. Then you have to ask yourself if that role is even possible for an NFL starting wideout. Then you have to ask yourself if he can make the enormous adaptation that the Jets have been asking him to make the last two years. He basically blocked in an option offense and took the top off the defense a few times a game to keep them honest. When he was thrown at deep he was ok but nothing special. He caught some. He dropped some. He didn't do anything that a guy with his size and speed shouldn't be able to do right after he rolls out of bed first thing in the morning, maybe as he rolls out of bed. The problem the Jets have right now is they projected Hill to be a star and in fact he's not even going to be a decent role player most of the time unless he dramatically raises his playing skills somehow. Has he looked good a few times? Yes, when he plays against really bad CB's and secondaries he has looked good at times. When he plays against NFL-caliber CB's and secondaries he just completely vanishes. That's because "go deep and get open" doesn't work in the NFL, especially if the defense is not drawn up with 9 and 10 men in the box to stop an option running attack.
Demarius went through almost the same transition and has similar struggles his first 2 years. He made vast improvements his third year (with help from Peyton). Other then the injury bug I haven't seen anything from Hill to say that it's not possible he would / could follow the same career arch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So the worst QB ever gets 5 years of disappointing the Jets faithful, and Hill only gets 2 years? Really, I have to believe he gets another year at least.
Really In the last 10 years its happened to the Jets Yea its Rexs fault that Hill is a joke,He has been a WR his entire adult life but its Rex Ryans fault he can't catch a football ,run a good route, stay healthy, get seperation constantly.A coach can only do so much to coach an untalented player with limited skills. He was a reach to begin with
Hindsight is 20-20 with the Jeffery thing. It also doesn't help that Hill has had Sanchez and Smith throwing passes to him, it also doesn't help he can't get open and that he can't seem to stay healthy at all. Hopefully he starts producing it would be a huge boost to our offense, but it's highly unlikely.
