Following is the link to a video review of WR Prospects. I don't know anything about the reviewer or the site, but it's an interesting review, and some of his rankings will surprise (especially you, Rockinz! :wink He rates 30-odd WRs, so provides some info on lesser known WRs too, although I'm not sure how accurate he is. He has some WRs that others rank highly ranked much lower. http://footballgameplan.com/2014-nfl-draft-prospect-rankings-wide-receivers/
This site doesn't have scouting reports on Cooks, Robinson, Matthews and quite a few other WRs. I don't know if they just haven't gotten to those players yet, or why they aren't listed. They only have 14 WRs rated. The others they have rated are Kevin Norwood of Alabama, Jeremy Gallon of Michigan, TJ Jones of Notre Dame, L'Damian Washington and Marcus Lucas of Missouri. I'll post their reports soon.
Thanks for posting this! I just hope we grab a WR within the first 3 rounds. I think it's really fortunate for us that this WR draft pool is sooo deep. We need to hit a home run with our pick and you know i love my boom or bust picks  For Benjamin to not make this guys top 10 is a joke. I cant wait for him to run a sub 4.55 - 40 at the bine and just shoot up the rankings! He needs to work on his concentration though. ALSO he just turned 23 two weeks ago(Feb/5)? So I'm not sure what this guy is talking about... He wont be 24 at the start of the season. This guy also said that Landry has the best hands outside Larry Fitz, Chris Carter and Jerry Rice LOL x 1000000 Just the 2 best WR in NFL history wowww If that was true he would be the #1 overall pick. Wouldn't he? C'mon Man!!! I am warming up to Allen Robinson a lot too. I think he is the Keenen Allen from last year. I think we could snag him with our 2nd or maybe even the Tampa 3rd. That guys comparison to Stevy Johnson is off though IMO.. He reminds me more of Jordy Nelson.
Football's Future ranks the WRs like this: Sammy Watkins, Clemson Marqise Lee, USC Mike Evans, Texas AM Jordan Mathews, Vanderbilt Davante Adams, Fresno St. Kelvin Benjamin, Florida St. Allen Robinson, Penn St. Brandin Cooks, Oregon St.. Odell Beckham, LSU Paul Richardson, Colorado Following is the link to the article with comments on each of the WRs: http://www.footballsfuture.com/2014/prospects/wr.html His comments are a bit strange, however. At one point, he refers to Watkins as "Watson." He ranks them in this order, yet doesn't discuss them in order, and doesn't have anything to say about Robinson, Beckham or Richardson, yet has a paragraph on Donte Moncrief. That makes me think that this guy really doesn't know what he's talking about. In addition, he covers the TEs on the same page and has paragraphs on Colt Lyerla and Brandon Thomas, yet has nothing on CJ Fiedorowicz or Arthur Lynch.
My Take: Sammy Watkins, Clemson Mike Evans, Texas AM Brandin Cooks, Oregon St Davante Adams, Fresno St Odell Beckham, LSU Marqise Lee, USC Jordan Mathews, Vanderbilt Jarvis Landry, LSU Kelvin Benjamin, Florida St. Allen Robinson, Penn ST Paul Richardson, Colorado Jared Abbrederis, Wisconsin Robert Herron, Wyoming Donte Moncrief, Ole Miss
Paul Richardson scares me cause of his small frame. Jared Abbrederis's size, and injury history (concussions) scares me. Might be the next Danny Amendola. Kelvin Benjamin is either the next Calvin Johnson, or the next James Hardy. A huge risk to take. I feel confident in most of the either wide receivers in this class. I think Davante Adams will be a stud (even if some doubt him).
Why do you have Lee so low? With his speed and the production he put up in his sophmore season, not saying you are wrong, would just be interested in an elaboration
My Take pre bine: Sammy Watkins, Clemson Mike Evans, Texas AM Kelvin Benjamin, Florida St Allen Robinson, Penn ST Odell Beckham, LSU Davante Adams, Fresno St Marqise Lee, USC Brandin Cooks, Oregon St Jarvis Landry, LSU Jordan Mathews, Vanderbilt Jared Abbrederis, Wisconsin Paul Richardson, Colorado Donte Moncrief, Ole Miss Josh Huff, Oregon
We aren't very far apart on our tiers. I have mixed thoughts on Lee. I can see him as a tier 1 guy, but also can see him as a possible tier 2 or maybe even tier 3. I love his elite speed and play making ability, but do have questions about his hands. I also think that post Combine, Beckham and Benjamin, and possibly even Cooks could be seen as tier 1 WRs by many, if not most. I definitely think Davante Adams is a tier 2 WR and while I'm not as high on Robinson as many, I think he is probably a tier 2 WR as well. I think Jared Abbrederis is a tier 3 WR. I think the deciding factor on where these guys go is how NFL teams see their ceiling, how they think they fit in their particular offense, and whether they are looking for a WR that can come in and contribute immediately over one of the other WRs, yet perhaps not have as high a ceiling as those other WRs. This will be the tricky area for the Jets. We all know that they need a serious upgrade at WRs who can contribute immediately. Hopefully, they are able to sign at least one quality WR in FA, and two would be even better. That would relieve them of any pressure to have to take a WR who they thought could contribute sooner, but not eventually be as good as some of the others in the draft. In terms of the Jets offense and the WCO, I think guys like Beckham, Cooks, Adams, and Robinson would be better because of their speed and YAC abilities. Landry would also be a very good option. For sure, guys like Benjamin, Evans and Mathews could probably help the Jets, and I do think the Jets need some taller WRs, since the slant is such a staple of the WCO, I think the Jets need to get some WRs who really excel in that route. In terms of probably being able to contribute sooner, guys like Evans, Mathews and maybe Abbrederis might be better. I really like that Evans knows how to come back to the ball, his size and strength in the middle of the field, but he needs work on route running, which could hinder him. I don't see him as much of an option on slant routes, however. Mathews and Abbrederis are good route runners, and seem to have good hands, and Mathews has excellent size, but like Evans neither would probably be that productive in slant routes. Abbrederis' and Cooks' lack of size cause some concern for staying healthy. The Jets also count on their WRs to be good blockers. I've read that Adams is a good blocker. I think Evans, Benjamin and Mathews might be or at least have the potential to be because of their size and strength. Cooks probably wouldn't be much help in this area. Similar to this is ability to defeat jams at the LOS. That is a consideration as well. I definitely want to see the Jets double dip at WR and get one from either tier 1 or tier 2 and another from tier 3. It's going to be interesting to see what happens.
This is very true in a WCO. YAC is very important, shifty guys with pure speed, quick acceleration and football speed is key. But in a WCO you still need a true vertical threat as well to keep the D honest. I really feel if a team above us gets desperate for a particular player and Ebron/Watkins/Evans are gone i would love to trade back in the draft! Take a late first and add a 2nd would be ideal. I have a dream situation with The CAROLINA PANTHERS! #28 + #60 for #18 At 28# we still might have a shot at Benjamin/Beckham/Lee/Amaro(TE) and we still draft 1 spot before the Pats  Plus at #60 we still have a shot at a very good prospect Cooks/Robison/Landry/Mathews/Adams/ASJ(TE). Panthers are a player or 2 away from making a run similar to Seattle... They can afford to be aggressive and get the guy they want. To move up 10 spots will definitely cost them a late 2nd if not a bit more... The Jets gain another ball in the lottery and can try to swing for the fences and add 2 prospects in a very very deep draft pool.
I think you answered what i was saying... They are 1 or 2 pieces away... That key piece being a WR! Lets say they LOVE LOVE one of Lee/Benjamin/Beckham and he is there at 18. Riverboat Ron can afford to gamble and get a piece that can get them on the path for a true run.
I would defiantly rather move back and take the extra pick instead of Lee at 18.. His technique isn't great and his hands are suspect... He is a true boom or bust pick! Which i love but the extra 2nd rounder in such a deep draft holds a lot of weight.
