OK - fine, that's your opinion. I want to discuss the "out of the game, shoulder pads off" part of your opinion. 1) I don't believe the starters did have their shoulder pads off since they had been playing into the 3rd quarter. I could see that being the case if they were pulled at halftime. Me not believing you doesn't mean I'm 100% sure you're incorrect though. I have to find that game and go back to this point to check. If you have some kind of evidence to support this I'd appreciate you posting it to save me time. 2) If the starters did in fact have there shoulder pads off and Rex had already determined Sanchez was the starter. Well ... you know where I'm going with this. Why weren't his shoulder pads also off? It's fine to have an opinion but when the facts surrounding that opinion don't really support it the opinion seems as if you've taken a strange path to arrive at that opinion.
I don't have any evidence as to whether they had their shoulder pads off or not--I'm going by past experience that when the starters in a preseason games come out--they are out for good. You know, pads off, whether in reality or in theory. Once they are done, it's as if their pads are off. As to you second point--no--you're mixing "starters" versus "the starter". Sanchez had not played yet, while all those other guys--the "starters" IN THAT GAME had already played. The "starters" in that game were also the "starters". i.e., the first stringers who would start the season. Sanchez had not played, therefore he was not one of the "starters" in that game, so he did not have his shoulder pads off in reality or in theory. This had nothing to do whether he was "the starter", i.e., the first stringer who would start the season but rather someone who just had not yet played. Honestly, my opinion on THIS issue is not that complicated, nothing nefariuous was going on, there were no ulterior motives at play when Rex made that decision. I've never tried to spin this into anything other than that. _

Excuse me while I interrupt the last three pages of schoolboy irrelevance to pose a question or three. The poll here shows three out of four participants do not want to see Sanchez continue as a Jet. I believe one of the reasons, which I have not seen examined in any detail, is a lack of confidence by the fans in Sanchez. This may be because Sanchez himself does not appear to have a great deal of self confidence and doesn't even "talk a good game." There also appears to be a paucity of information illustrating any great confidence in Sanchez by the guys in the locker room. Does anyone here have anything to indicate Sanchez has the necessary confidence to successfully lead the team? Does anyone here have anything concrete to show the team has confidence in the ability of Sanchez to be successful? Does anyone here have that confidence, and why?

I don't think there is anyway to have anything concrete in the way of proving something as amorphous as "confidence". Maybe we'll hear something after he is cut, but I'm not so sure you can project the lack of confidence by the fans onto folks inside the building. IMHO. _
But where are the quotes and interviews from inside that are more than just empty rhetoric? They seem to be conspicuous in their absence.
What I always seemed to see with Sanchez, was that he always started the season confident and would come out slinging. The issue was once he took a hit or two, he was visibly shaken. The Ravens and Steelers game come to mind. If Sanchez was brought back next season, I don't think confidence is the problem. If he starts getting smacked around by opposing D's, than I think we'll see his confidence fall.
Agreed. I've always said Sanchez was a tough son of a bitch. He got killed a few times and would always get back up. He may have been tough, but his play always deteriorated as a result of the hits. That was always a complaint of mine. Statistically speaking at least, our O-Line was weaker this year than it was last year. This year probably wouldn't have been any different IMO.
You would rather waste your time with a JAG? Mark knows the systems is still young and has shown potential. You are not wasting time he is an insurance policy and hopefully a positive surprise. Geno played his bets ball with Mark on the sidelines. Unlike you I believe and it has been proven the Jets can win with Sanchez and win pretty big games. If Geno fails or gets hurt I want someone I knwo we can win with.
Why the anger? You used to be a good poster know you are just act like somebody pissed in your cheerios. Now we are Sanchez fans, no we are Jet fans that have some respect for a guy that has more playoff wins than any jet QB in history. What facts and spin points are we making? Every talking head on the planet had Sanchez starting especially after Geno's collapse against the Giants. We do not know why Rex put in Sanchez we speculate just like you do because we do not really know. Because our speculation is different than yours you get angry? You are correct it is a moot point. You haters had Sanchez cut last June but he is still here why is that?
