yeah..coming down harder here now..still...i think the theory of the models interpreting the precip as all snow is accurate. Still..3 to 6 should happen.
Watched a movie with the wife,,,friends with benefits,,,..we both liked it,,,,lnow back to this weather stuff
Yep....unless I see a huge burst of snow done for the night. Just saw reports up in northern sussex county where the second bands set up and totals there and into NY State right over the border..24 to 30..so bands did set up..but to our west. Great storm..now the shit part..and again guys...I would love to have a quiet weekend...but Im sure with everything going on many missed a post from a few hours ago. THE SATURDAY STORM IS CLOSE TO BEING A 6 TO 10 EVENT...FROM PHILLY NORTH. Right now..its a 3 to 5 event until you get up to MASS where they will have a full blown snowstorm...MARSHALL..BEWARE. Then another storm Monday night/Tuesday...so...lets regroup and will study tomorrow.
Just came in from shovelling. I didn't put a ruler on it, but had maybe 4-6 inches. Not too bad. There's ice under the snow, though, which is a pain. Running out of places to put it. Temps are warm, and there's a stream of melt flowing down the hill. My poor arborvitaes, though. They look like they're wounded. I had them for three years, and never wrapped them. I guess I'll be doing that from now on. As if the snowfall wasn't bad enough, my a-hole neighbor dumped his snow on them too. Off to work!! Have a good day, everyone, and thanks Jay!
Southern VT had a solid 8" when I left for work at 10:30 pm, it had appeared to have stopped snowing. It started again around midnight dumping over 2" an hour for a while and it's still coming down hard now at 6:35 am. Our total right now is 16+ and now the wind is picking up.
Just woke up,,,not sure how much s out there but it appears it snowed pretty hard again last nite,,,,,,going out in a few to see exactly what I'm up against,,,,,,be safe all
Same here my aborvitaes took a beating,,,,I tie em every year ,,,except this year because they grew pretty big,,,,,just went out ! Be careful all it is wet and heavy ! I want to get as much snow as I can off my deck it is soooo heavy,,,gonna put the kids to work today that's for sure !
Jay,,kudos again buddy,,,,,all the info and updates were great ! That said mad props to you again for calling this storm and amounts days before ANY of the local weather people . You were all over this as usual and you deserve all the praise that myself and others throw your way ! You can say its no big deal and that you " just follow the models and the trends " but so do the people who get paid to tell us the weather and you predict it or anticipate it so much better than they do ! Ps there are other guys on this site that chime in and are all over this as well so you guys should take a bow also,,,,,,,,,nice job By all of you ! Keep em coming Jay !
Jay nailed it again big time. All in all, Madison got more than 15 inches at least. Weather guys were saying 6-8 up until yesterday
Yeah ED...S.I. those were big numbers...on the bubble spots did well..or bad..depending if you wanted it...lasts nights batch was off...but up in northern Sussex county they got close to a foot of snow. Big storm numbers are in MD where some locations received 28". Thanks guys...now the crap part...you are correct..this part sucks. HEAVY. Now the models are all over the place tomorrow and the GFS has the bigger storm and it was terrible with this storm..so the other models have 2 to 4...maybe 5. Then a storm for Tuesday that will be front end snow and turning to rain as of now..bigger storm that might dump 5 front end...we shall see..THEN IT WARMS UP. Any major changes with storm tonight/tomorrow will post them.
Gecko,,,can I not deal with my aches and pains and this heavy snow before you bum me out about the lack of use that my pool will get this summer ? Lol
so when do you expect the snow to start for tomorrow...and as always, as sick as i am of this winter and all this snow, thanks jay...you're the man!
officially tired of snow, phase 2 gave us another 1' making it 2' total no where to put it and its heavy as hell. thanks for keeping us informed jay, you had it nailed down long before most others did.
Same story here FJF. We got around 15" and I just finished shoveling. And no snowblower for me so probably I lost some weight which is a good thing. And now Jay says another 2-4 inches tomorrow and maybe even 5. God help all of us.
Nothing like waking up in the morning and finding more snow on the ground. Snowblowers are nice but they are heavy to use. Add that weight to the weight of the snow yesterday and you can imagine the kind of workout I got. I'm just glad this next snow just might be the last snow of the winter. This has been the toughest winter over the last 3 years or so. We survived it folks and if I don't miss my guess, a lot of us will be pretty damn happy to see Spring get here on March 21st. Thanks Jay!
