Ok...some short range models and this is going to take me some time to figure out maybe 15 minutes because I have to check the times on this but for UPTON to raise totals like this after a lull...I mean...do the math. Many of us in NNJ got 12..so they are saying final totals of 18 to 24..thats 6 to 12 more inches..and the first model I just looked at said 10 to 12 for our area. That would a lot of North Jersey..and into NYC.
BACK END SNOW 3RD MODEL...6-12..south to north jersey. Little speechless right now..but yes..no school again tomorrow and I have no idea where places will put this snow..many businesses will be closed..and if this happens, back to back state of emergency days for Jersey. Guys, I know you might want to know for your areas so give me a few. Some areas when all said and done will end up with over 2 feet.
If I told you guys it might hit 60 next weekend would you feel any better? Yeah..I dont know if this is overdone so lets say 5 to 10 more inches for almost everyone...everyone after your lull is over. Restart time is still hours away.
Any idea what the restart time would be in Clifton? We've had a light drizzle for the past hour or so, no sleet or freezing rain yet.
I want to say between 8 and 10? MZ...but maybe a bit earlier..this would come down heavy for about 7 hours for many.
Most of the snow here has melted. Only problem is it's causing flooding. Hopefully not much more. I have to drive home tomorrow for a funeral on Saturday.
That's good news, hopefully I'm done shoveling for the day then. Already been out 3 times. Thanks for all the info!
Wow I was shot,,,,passed out,,,,,,,going back out now to finish what I started before,,,hey jay when does it start back up time wise ,,,and did ireadthatcorrectly,,,,I am looking at 6 to 12more inches here ?
So I can expect another 6+ inches tonight on top of the 13-14 we already have?! I guess I can live with that as long as it is snow and not ice or sleet. I just want my power to remain on. I have no idea where they are going to put all this snow. My mailbox, which is on edge of my property facing the street and is about 4-5 feet off the ground has snow piled up right the opening of the box. There are literally snow banks 4-5 high on each side of the street already because of the plowing of the street. I will soon be living in a canyon. The last time we got snow like this in Randolph- it was around New Year's day some 10 years ago or so - we got 30' and when it melted I had ice dams in my gutters. We fixed the roof, but I hope it is in good enough shape to prevent that from happening again.
So I'm looking at the TWC radar. It is that back end hook in PA thru to DC and Virginia that is coming our way tonight? The WC radar future setting, which only goes out six hours, makes it appear that mixed precip is coming and not snow. I hope it is snow and not ice and sleet coming.
I just walked 6 blocks up 8th Avenue, with no umbrella, and my jacket open. There's a very slight mist in the air, and I'm gueesing that the temps are in the mid 30s. Meanwhile, my buddy told me that there is probably 10 inches of snow waiting for me at home. It's a winter wonderland. I'm betting that the Swedish bikini team didn't clean my walk. Hot bikini clad Lesbians probably don't come out in this weather either. .
alright we are in the lull. everything is caught up at work and home. a couple of ibuprofen and i will be back at it in the a.m. how much more will it be tonite jay? btw, when i said 2' in a week i wasn't thinking it would all come in 1 day
I am worried about Jay,,,,,,I think his computer might have blown up,,,,,no sightings in a while I hope this does not mean snow blower issues that sux,,,,maybe the wife sent him out for more fire wood ? in any event freezing rain rite now,,streets and plowed driveway are an ice skating rink ! Need to know when the snow starts back up because I gotta get the dog out BEFORE that happens,,,,and how much are we talking because as usual local weather guys are all over the place.
cbg, you're in rockland right? looked at the radar it looks like a nice clear for the next hour or so, start up again around 9? no idea what to expect for amounts but they are some intense bands coming thru in round 2
What a day! 4 am, roads weren't bad at all but holy hell.. By 8 - 10 am we got slammed at work. Had 3 drivers come back because they couldn't finish their routes. No accidents or trouble with the other 2. Thank god. Definitely investing in a snowblower for the next winter. Jay, how are we looking for tonight/early tomorrow? Thanks again for all the help. Awesome job
