The snow in Randolph NJ has lightened up considerably over the past 30 minutes and visibility is much better. I just measured about 13-14 inches in my front walkway so far today. The flakes got larger for a while, but they are back to "normal" again. The wind has picked up considerably though.
Ok..just looked at 3 short term models..others will get back end snow but it seems a band of heavy snow will setup from Eastern VA...Western DE...Southeast PA...west central NJ...central northern NJ..southeast NY...Western Conn. Now left and right of that will of course get good back end snows but areas around there for now could get 6 to 8 inches more of snow tonight..ending south to north..midnight to 6 am. Areas left and right could get as much as 3 to 6.
The flakes are the key jwws..big numbers..and Im wondering because the flakes have done that here too if we every really go over to a prolonged freezing rain or rain..seems we can go over to sleet..but the line has been drawn around north jersey on north where it will not rain.
Just turned to rain on the north shore of LI, We've had 9" easy. You locked LI in for 12" on either Monday or Tuesday and I parroted that all week, but no one believed me. I made a bet of 20 an inch over/under was 10" You're gonna make me rich.
I really do not think you will go over to rain or freezing rain CBG..i think that line stopped now..could be wrong...maybe an hour of freezing drizzle..but that line may have stopped now. Still think looking at radar you hit 12 before a lull..big question is where do you end up from here. 15 would be a safe bet with the second batch.
oh..and most importantly for those in NNJ and on south or east...lull...get this snow out of here. This is a perfect time..will be back In a few. You can see south of NNJ its slowing up for awhile RADAR: http://www.wunderground.com/radar/r...tning=0&smooth=0&showlabels=1&rainsnow=0&MR=1
Snow stopped falling in Madison NJ We have around 10 inches right now. Jay Any rain, freezing rain risk for Madison?
Snow is over here in SoCenPA. Changed over to a light but steady rain. Perhaps 12" on the ground here. Very wet, very heavy snow. Me and Big A are both worn out from all the snowblowing. I'm glad I got that salt layer down yesterday as once I got the top layer of snow off, the bottom was already slushy and now that its changed over to rain, I'm gonna let the salt finish the cleanup job.
Just got in from clearing the snow. Had 12 inches or so here in Fair Lawn. Jay for those in Bergen Country how much snow can we expect overnight? Getting tired of this shit, Spring can't come soon enough.
South western LI. I would say we got about 8 inches. It was the wettest, heaviest snow I can remember.
wow..that was tough snow cman..yeah..11 or 12 here too...i was wrong about that line getting here...its freezing rain and sleet here. JWWS in Randolph break..but more to come. FJF..yes..you too will break..and then more to come. Im sure by now Brook...you are freezing rain? I would guess almost everyone south of NY border will finish with some freezing rain/drizzle..until the fun starts again...it may start again as sleet..but will turn to snow for everyone..and it will come down hard for most.
MPARTY...I HEAR YOU WITH THE HEAVY PART...it was fluffy lighter earlier on the first round..the second round..ugly. Greg...Yep...even I am ready to call it a day this winter. Tough call on the second round so im going to do what you guys know I hate doing..2 to maybe 9...it depends where that heavy banding shows up. I posted a little earlier what I thought but its a blend of models..and its a real tough call...one second.
ok..major breaking news with this second round..hold on..this is incredible...some will get a foot more.
