The thing is as we see with Hill is it takes time for these WRs to often find their niche unless its a great, great one. Quick was a project coming into the draft and its not really much of a surprise that he hasn't "figured" it out yet. Anyone have Johnny's board?
So, as the first GM (I think) with my draft done, I'll give a quick rundown to my thought process TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS 1. Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn - Bucs are in a weird spot in round 1. I look at the Bucs' primary needs as pass rushing DE and offensive line, preferably guard. However, I look at Robinson (and Matthews) as elite prospects at OT. This was straight BPA. Khalil Mack would have filled a slightly bigger need, but I hoped to get a defensive end in round 2, where Robinson could have been a top 3 pick most drafts. Was hoping Sammy Watkins would fall. 2. Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State - Thought hard about a couple receivers I like, but I think I can get one I like in round 4 (no round 3 pick). Crichton should provide instant help to Tampa's defensive end rotation. Overall, I think Tampa would love to trade down from 7 if Clowney and Watkins are gone. This isn't a flashy draft, but it will help Tampa on both sides of the trenches.
Really really sorry guys, thought Id be back in time and couldnt get onto the internet on my phone for some reason, ultimately should have sent my board. Went with Roby, Lions need secondary help BADLY and Roby was the best CB on the board. Happy to have him.
That really sucks both Matthews and Robinson went off the board. Really thought the Ravens would get one of em. Thanks to that, now I need some time to re-pick for Baltimore lol.
I really wanted Matthews(And Robinson too) but I got a pretty good WR in Landry. Ideal no.2 and the perfect compliment to Torrey Smith, Landry will provide what Boldin left the Ravens as that guy for Flacco to throw short to intermediate passes to. This draft has been a disaster for the Jets though. The guys who I would want are getting taken before us.
It was down to Landry or Adams for Baltimore but I like the Landry fit more....Adams is a work in progress in some areas and we have that in Stephen Hill. It hits a need for us big time though and if Adams clicks and figures it out, he has tremendous upside.
Why did think Adams was already select? Great pick, needs some development but has a ton of upside, now if only he was paired with Carr instead of Geno
