Okay... let me look up 2007 draft. That's the Revis draft. With their pick, Jets could have drafted: Jon Beason [OLB] Joe Staley [OT] Ben Grubbs [OG] AND keep the 2nd round pick. [Carolina got Ryan Kalil with that pick - 2 pro bowl quality starter for one. Jets did NOT come out on top like these Revis jockholder troops try to brainwash you.]
If you have to trade up to get your QB AND he works out then you've made a good move. I really think in any other situation you've just danced around on stage flashing your undies to make people look, all the while hoping that Vice isn't in the audience that night. Trading up doesn't work unless the main point of trading up is to get people to look at you. Or you have to have a QB and the move works out. If you really need a QB and the move doesn't work out, well then you've turned a mediocre team into a bad one. Redskins pre-RGIII trade up: 4-12, 6-10, 5-11 The trade up worked!: 10-6 No, it didn't...: 3-13 Dan Snyder helped us out by dancing on stage flashing his undies.
Do you have totals for the Phins and Bills? Is it better scouting/development, or just more picks from the 5th onwards leading to more opportunity to hit on a pick. And as others mentioned, Kerley has to qualify for us. Also luck. RGIII got hurt, maybe Redskins take a weak NFC East if RGIII never gets hurt and it's two winning seasons in a row. By sacrificing that much for one player, you also have to get lucky. Although I would say Redskins let RGIII get hit too much which is less luck and more them not protecting an asset.
