I wouldn't either, but I think the people who do do so, whether they are aware of it or not, because they don't have that single example to exemplify his greatness. It is easier to nitpick a total body of work if you can't counter that criticism with that definitive moment.
People also say Kobe has never had a playoffs or Finals moment, LOL Nevermind he averaged 33, 7, and 7 against the Magic in the Finals in 2010. There was no "moment"
You can not look at passer ratings today and compare them to passer ratings from 20 years ago. I mean you could but you'd be misquided. Not even talking about the changes in penalizing defensive players (again- in Marino's day you could mug receivers and destroy QBs) if QBs back in the day threw 20 screens and dinks and dunks a game, their completion percentage would be in the high 70s and their INTs would be cut in half. _
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MariDa00/gamelog/post/ Just think, if Rodgers plays another 40 playoff games (in addition to the 9 already), he may throw as many picks as Marino did in 18. Something to aspire to. Quite frankly, I hope Rodgers sets higher goals than Dan Marino, that dude is beneath him
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200001150jax.htm I wish something could have cut this in half, maybe even in quarters, eighths?
Marino 3.0% INT percentage... LOL Favre 3.3% INT percentage BUT BUT BUT THEY WERE ALLOWED TO MUG WRS Joe Montana: 2.0% INT percentage Rodgers: 1.8% INT percentage Dumb QBs are dumb QBs. Don't give me era
Wow you really taught us all a great lesson. I am shamed. You of course are right, don't take into account the era, the teams they played on, the talent around them, the fact that 20-25 years ago they threw down field and weren't drinkers and dunkers because, you know, all that stuff is irrelevant (or doesn't fit with your narrative). Elway was better than Rogers, right? 3.1% INT ratio (same as Marino) and a CAREER 56.9% completion rate. Stop it, you're showing you age or rather lack of maturity. It was a completely different time and era, you can't compare stats from today with stats of yester-year. Have you ever heard of that guy Johnny Unitas? Probably not but he had a 4.9% INT rate and had a career 54.6% completion rate. Seriously, stop. We get it, you love Rogers. He's an all time great. Not in Marino's class. _
Serious question and not trying to be a dick here. How old are you? Again, not trying to be a dick, just want to get your frame of reference. Or rather, are you over 50 or under 30? _
Wait, this is his last year when he was basically done? Holy holy holy crap. Well done young man, good find. _
Rodgers >>>> Elway LOL at bringing up 1960s Unitas. Stop. Just stop. Marino played in close to this era and he was flat out horrible. Look at his mid-late 90s stats. He's horrible. He was great early in his career but he had a SIXTEEN wonderlic... lmao. Dude can barely even spell. How dare you insult Rodgers and some of the present greats like that.
Did he not have a 16 wonderlic? Dude was dumb. Dumber than Favre which is hard to do. People romanticize the 80s. Marino would not do well in this era, he's too stupid.
Ok, please stop. The wonderlic means NOTHING in the world of NFL football and who's to say he even gave a shit about that test? He had an incredible football IQ and was a massive leader on that team and in the league for years. You didn't see him, go away little boy. _
Yup, done here. I'm not sure what is worse, being trolled by a kid like this or Junc. Man, this thread has it all. Rogers better than Elway or Unitas or Marino, Tebow with as many playoff wins on average as Peyton Manning, Geezuz what a shit show. _
You stick up for Sanchez!!! Am I supposed to be offended? You're one of the guys I show my buddies and we laugh at...
