I want one of the top 2 TEs in the draft, I also don't want him to reach for needs. if he did that last year we don't get Richardson. Draft best available and we'll get there eventually.

A #1 receiver is a receiver that can garner the attention and still succeed. Like I said, teams don't go into games game-planning to stop Eric Decker. Hakeem Nicks has been the priority in defensive coordinators game plans for years.

If the Jets can get Eric Decker at the right price, I dont have an issue. But if we are going to pay this guy to be our #1 then we are making a huge mistake.

NFL network were talking about these two today.
The consensus is Tate would take a pay cut to stay at 'Hawks.
Decker is going to want to be paid top money, which I can't see this new regime coughing up for

Maclin was the number 1 receiver in Philly.

No he wasn't. He was never the "number 1 receiver." He was a first round receiver, but not a number one receiver.

I agree that Maclin had just as much a case to be the Eagles' "Number 1" as Jackson did. Over the four year stretch that both were on the field (excluding 2013 when Mac was out for the season) their numbers look more like 1A and 1B, rather than #1 and #2 WR. Prior to Maclins injury, lots of folks thought Maclin to be the more complete WR of the two.

    From 2009-2012 --

    Jackson: 213 receptions/3,884 yds/21 TD

    Maclin: 257 receptions/3,442 yds/26 TD

Maclin had 44 more receptions, 5 more TDs, but 450 yds less, so it looks like Maclin was a #1 target. Jackson was injured the last 5 games of 2012 but Maclin missed 3 games in 2011. Also, Maclin was tied for the NFL lead in red zone TDs with 7.....and it was Hakeem Nicks that tied him.

I'm very pro-Maclin and think he fits Idzik's kind of signing. Bring Maclin in, and draft Ebron, Amaro or Lee at 18, BPA in the 2nd and come back in the third with the BPA RB of Hyde/Sankey/Seastrunk/Williams. I think our revamped offense combined with Kerley, Hill and Nelson will give Geno what he needs to excel.

I'm pro Maclin as well but I'm nervous about his knee. Also be careful using receptions to present as evidence of who the #1 receiver is. In the 60s the Browns had Gary Collins and Paul Warfield. Collins would usually have more receptions than Warfield but Warfield was the#1.

Lol at he was "never" the number 1. He has more receptions and more targets than Jackson. Plus physically he's the guy you want as a number 1.

I wouldn't feel too nervous about it - ACL surgery and recovery technologies have come a long way. I would give him a 2 or 3 year deal because that 2nd year in TC fully healthy would be a huge plus.

I dunno about that. Decker's a #3 on a team with the best QB in the league. That doesn't bode too well for him getting #1 money.

Tate just came out and said he'd take less money to stay with the Seahawks, so that option's probably out.

we'll see if that actually happens, right now they are on the high of winning a SB but when offers come in let's see if he tales less. That is more PR stuff for the fans than anything else.

Lol D.Jack always been philly's #1 . He's just not a go-to guy like maclin ..DJack is the big playmaker and all teams had to do was blanket him over top and he was done.. Guess philly liked how he spread the field which made opportunities for Maclin. My question is can MACLIN spread the field here and make oppurtunities for our #2 whoever that would be? idk... Maybe if we draft Lee and throw him out there as a #1 and let Mac play that same roll he did in philly with Marty but idk about that either right away.. we'll see

I always find it hilarious when someone names a Free Agent, like a big free agent and says, "we'll if they can get him at the right price." Why would Eric Decker leave the Broncos to go to the Jets if the Jets didn't give him a big big number?
