We were primed for the playoffs last year if we could have stayed healthy. Instead Melo hurt his shoulder, Tyson had some type of flu that he always has, and JR was playing hurt too. We still took IND to 6 games and that's with Woodson throwing out the bad lineups. We were there, but had some bad luck. This year, the team is severely flawed and Wodson while getting dealt a bad hand of cards, decided to light the cards in fire instead of trying to making something good of it
Steve Popper @StevePopper 2h Record column: League source said desperate Knicks pushing to oust Woodson before trade deadline: http://bit.ly/1eTsYWv "Woodson, whom one league source said could be removed before the Feb. 20 trade deadline."
Yeah with how far we are getting from the top of Atlantic Division its about time. Btw I am going to the game tonight...Got some cheap tickets online because of the weather and its a good matchup, so why not
MSG is MSG. Gotta go. Get to see Lillard and Aldridge. The Blazers jack up a lot of 3s and the Knicks give up a lot of open 3s so there's that.
You sure were right...Knicks are so bad to watch as a team...They lack any sort of offensive coordination. Man it is bad to watch out there...The stat line is shows how imbalanced this team is.
Knicks played pretty well yesterday. Blazers are a very strong team, and Knicks played hard. Losing is 1 thing; but not hustling, giving up, playing with no heart is a whole different story. Carmelo was playing both ends really well, his shots stopped falling but, i don't get how he only takes 2 shots in the 4th quarter with like 1 minute to go. And yes, thank god, its about time Woodson goes. He can't coach a team to win. I have been saying this for a long time, he doesn't know how to manage players minutes. Also, another note: Stat needs to play 25-30 minutes a game. Look, we aren't going to go anywhere anytime soon. Definitely not this year. There is no sense in saving his minutes. Just let the guy play, worst case scenario, he blows his knees out again and retires at the end of this season, freeing us from his contract. Worst case/best case, take it however you want. We are paying him $100mill to play 18 minutes. That's a joke now.
BTW, I am not sure if anyone mentioned this, but there was some buzz about the Knicks and OKC possible deal. The first time i heard of this was when JR Smith did that nasty dunk on the cavs, and right away I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. BUT, after a few days, it sort of makes SOME SENSE. OKC Receive: Shumpert, Chandler, Felton. Knicks Receive: Westbrook, perkins, and a pick. Ok at first you think its silly. BUT, think about this: The Thunder have been playing incredible ball without Westbrook. Jackson is a serviceable point guard and is also playing really well. The Thunder will now get a premier center to pair with Ibaka. The Knicks get a play maker in Westbrook instantly. At first i thought it made no sense for the Thunder, but now, it sort of does, and for the Knicks - well, we have nothing to lose in this IMO. Again its all fantasy, and just for conversation purposes, who knows. Perhaps if the Thunder start losing when Westbrook comes back, they may go ahead and move him.
Seriously? Westbrook can get the Thunder such a stellar package with picks and stuff...I dont think they would go with that
Of course not, like i said, it was mentioned to me and at first thought it was silly. Simply for conversation. However, there aren't many options out there for them. It makes sense for the Thunder if they want to get bigger and tougher. Felton can come off the bench, as well as Shump, and Tyson would start. If the Thunder are rolling when Westbrook returns, then it makes no sense, however, if they start losing games, it will make sense. Chandler is a game changer in the right situation, situation where all he has to do is bring the heart and tough defense (Dallas, NY last year). I don't think Westbrook will go anywhere because they let a lot of players go to keep Westbrook/Durant/Ibaka combination.
that's actually a good trade for the Thunder if they are willing to part with Westbrook. Their biggest needs are exactly what Shumpert and Chandler provide, and Felton is a nice addition off the bench. this isn't a rebuilding team that can benefit from draft picks and rookies who may take time to develop, they benefit more by veteran, established players.
I saw that trade idea tossed around before. It's interesting, I doubt it works with OKC giving us a pick. We would have to give them picks. We lose Chandler and Perkins is definitely not the same thing. OKC plays minus basketball 90% of the time with Perkins on the floor. Shump is a higher potential, lower floor sefolosha. Chandler provides rim prescense starting with Ibaka or off the bench if they go small. Felton is not use to them as they already have Derek Fischer. I don't see OKC doing it if they have to give us a pick, but I don't think it's too unrealistic. I think other teams can bid much better for Westbrook and that we wouldn't get a pick back
i'd be ecstatic if we somehow managed to get ANYTHING for felton/chandler chandler's defense has been weak this season... and felton... i think speaks for himself. shump has been a huge disappointment this year but i don't want to see him go just yet.. and obviously it's time to let woodson go... on a positive note hardaway is continuing to impress.... seems to always make a clutch shot
Rumors about Woodson getting louder. Being the Knicks, AS break could come and pass and Woodson could still be coaching and it wouldn't surprise me. If the Knicks fire him, Sunday after OKC would be a good game, go into AS with a new coach set. Knicks also tend to bury news like this
@ESPNSteinLine: Hearing that Knicks are trying again to re-engage Denver around Shumpert-for-Faried We've talked about this trade before. I don't see how Faried fits us. From what I've seen, he's an undersized offensive player that plays Mleo position that has trouble playing D. He hustles a lot and that's good.
Hey, remember how the Knicks turned down a trade for Kyle Lowery about two months ago and decided they didn't want him? Well according to Frank Isola they do want him and are trying to acquire. Why Toronto would give him up, no clue. If they are looking way ahead I guess if they believe Kyle Lowery will leave Toronto at the end of the year, they can get assets for him (and 1st round picks if we're talking NYK). I would like Lowery on the Knicks with the ability to Bird Rights him after this year. I do not want to give up THJ and/or a 1st rounder
12 games under .500 heading into the AS break! To be fair, the Knicks have played .500 ball since 2014 occurred which was an improvement from OCT/NOV/DEC play
Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN 10m Remember folks, there are some at MSG who wanted nothing to do with Van Gundy, Thibodeau, Clifford, Malone & Ewing. How's that working out? Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN 9m Why would you want a Van Gundy disciple? Oh that's right, because they would never put up with the bull (bleep) that goes on at MSG. Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN 4m Until Jim Dolan gives a coach full autonomy to hire his entire staff and run the team his way, this nonsense will continue. Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN 3m Too many people at MSG want to have a voice in what goes on but they all run and hide when it comes to being accountable. Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN 1m Last coach to run Knicks his way was Van Gundy. Since he left, there are people with power whose goal is not winning but to keep their jobs Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN 19s I'm telling you, Pat Riley & Jeff Van Gundy would never allow this to happen. But hey, you fans have Chase Bridge & celebrity row. Not bad.
