The New York Post reported Callahan wanted a seven-year, $42 million deal, which GM Glen Sather countered with a five-year, $30 million offer. He wants $6mil not $7, so thats bullshit
dude, I don't know if u follow Dreger or Weekes but they are both almost always spot on. If theyre both sayin it, its true. Mind u, Cally might very well be pulling some silly negotiating trick, but Dreger and Weekes aint lying
+My son told me Delzaster gave the Devs their winning goal the other night, some things never change...
Actual words out of his mouth, all the other stuff is rumors and heresay...horseshit....you're like a fuckin' dog with a bone, you really hate him that much or are you bored and trying to annoy me, which I could really give 2 shits, I already told you if he goes he goes...LGR!...get a life...
hahha youre fuckin paranoid dude. Im not trying to fuck with you. I posted about callys demands and you voluntarily entered the conversation.
3rd line RW's are not worth anywhere near seven million. Callahan can take a hike. I am worried about Girardi's contract though. If the Rangers are serious about winning in the next few years, they can't leave a gaping hole on the top defensive pair. I think the Rangers really need to keep Girardi. Callahan can hit the road though. I wouldn't even give him a cent more than he is making now, which is about 4.8 million. People get fooled by the intangibles. He has never even scored 30 goals in a season.
Here is thing with Cally, I guess he thought he would have more attraction on the open market? there are 100 Callys in the league, this one just happens to be a product our our team. He's not going to get the money he wants, maybe when he comes back down to earth the Rangers can work something out. A good example, look what San Jose did, their players all worked out deals taking a little less money so they can keep the team in tact hoping they have the guys to win a cup. It seems like this cally deal is all me me me. If your heart is in NY, why don't you act like it then.
I got news for you, Giradi is not a top defensemen he's second line at best. His style of play requires him to block an insane amount of shots, not good for longevity of a hockey career (same style as Cally) McD is a stud, thats the Rangers top defensemen for sure. I've always been a fan of Stralman, he was the best defensemen last post season. The stats for both are very similar, both play almost 20 minutes a game. The rangers really need a Shea Weber, which will never happen. I was hoping the Rangers picked him up when he was a free agent awhile back.
He won't get what he's asking for but he'll get more than the Rangers are offering. Cap is going up and teams have money to blow. This sucks but the Rangers have to do what's best for the team. If Sather offered around 30 for 6 that's more than fair and if he balks then he's just going to get traded and that's all there is to that
I want to re-phrase what I said. If the rangers trade Callahan, it would be the grossest handling of talent since their trade of Brian Leetch. This team has won 11 of it's last 13, and is finally starting to gel. You trade the captain, you are giving up on this season. PERIOD. No team is going to give you anything worthwile to replace him this year when they KNOW the Rangers want to trade him. That being said, if Callahan demands that money in the off season, the Rangers should let him go. Big difference between losing your captain in the off season versus trading him for a 6th round draft pick mid-season.
nope, but if they do give him 50 mill. that would be the grossest misappropriation of funds in the clubs history.
