while enjoy another Peyton masterpiece I was recalling all the Meadowlands beauties the Manning brothers have played in at the Meadowlands(old and new Stadium): Peyton & Eli at the meadowlands in postseason Peyton(0-2): 2002 at NYJ: NYJ 41 Ind 0 14-31, 137 yds, 0 TDs, 2 INTs, led O to ZERO pts 2013 SB vs. Sea: Sea 43 Den 8 34-49, 280 yds, 1 TD, 2 INTs, led O to 8 pts totals: 48-80, 417 yds, 1 TD, 4 INTs, led O to 4 PPG, 57.1 rating Eli(1-2): 2005 vs. Car: Car 23 NYG 0 10-18, 113 yds, 0 TDs, 3 INTs, led O to ZERO pts 2008 vs. Phi: Phi 12 NYG 11 15-29, 169 yds, 0 TDs, 2 INTs, led O to 9 pts 2011 vs. Atl: NYG 24 Atl 2 23-32, 277, 3 TDs, 0 INTs, led O to 24 pts total: 48-79, 559 yds, 3 TDs, 5 INTs, led O to 11 PPG, 68.4 rating totals btw them: 96-159, 976 yds, 4 TDs, 9 INTs, led O's to 8.2 PPG, 62.7 rating, 1-4 record
Ha hes prolly like Jordan, can play the game but cant judge the talent. Peyton as a General Manager? not going to be my GM!
a little bit but as a player Jordan dominated the big spot, Peyton not so much. To be fair to him on talent evaluation you have to remember many of the stars on the team were just starting and hadn't established themselves plus Pete Carroll was not highly thought of at that point. Still a 2 time failure(though not his fault w/ us) in NFL and hadn't had a winning record through 2 years in Seattle.
Well actually the thing to me is, I think its possible if he went to Seattle, they are not the champions. Perhaps Peyton and the way he operates teams and has to have control has been detrimental. He commands to much attention, im sure for Pete Carrol it is much easier coaching Wilson rather than it would have been coaching Peyton. I truly believe it might be a Peyton thing, wherever he goes the same problems would follow. =/
"Its Peyton's team" might not be a good thing. I hear it all the time but perhaps Peyton has undermined the team aspect of the franchises he has played under. Are the Saints "Brees's team"? Are the Steelers "Roethlisbergers team"? Ironically the one year Peyton did win it was because of his team carrying him instead of him carrying his team. It might be best if Peyton lays off and fulfill his role as a QB instead of trying to change the mentality of an entire franchise, and try to be the coach all at once.
Junc buffing his own arguments and "debating" with himself on two of his accounts... not much to see here, folks.
You know Eli is secretly cheering in that picture because he still has more rings than Peyton, who is the far superior Manning.
I just find it interesting, nothing to take from it other than it is interesting how they have played at the meadowlands.
