He led his offense to 5 TD drives when he played the Giants the first time. What was different the second time? Or are you conceding that when the stakes were highest, Brady could not perform in the same manner that he previously had against the same D? Quite an admission from you, certainly goes against your "Brady playoff magic" mantra.

Also, you have made a lot of stupid arguments and suggestions in this thread, but if you are suggesting that the Giants D was anywhere near the level of this Seahawks D, that takes the cake. Look at every single number and statistical measure of those two defenses, Seattle wins them all. Use the eye test, Seattle's D simply had far more talent than the Giants D, who were actually very mediocre in the secondary, I'd go so far as to the say bad in the secondary. Great defensive line, but the other two levels were just not very good. Seattle's D is far more talented.

His post basically destroys everything you're arguing and is written by someone who seems to have a good understanding of the game. You must not be familiar with Brady's playoff career if you don't think he's had stinkers like that. His performance against the Ravens in 2009 was in my opinion considerably worse than how Manning played last night.

The Giant team they played in week 17 was very different than the one they played in the SB. The Giants allowed 22 PPG in the reg season, 16 in postseason.

The Giant D allowed 45 and 31 pts in 2 losses to Dallas, in the playoffs aon the road they allowed 14. they allowed 35 to GB in the reg season at home , held them to 20 in an OT game on the road.

I think Seattle's D is better too but NYG's D played just as good in their 2 playoff runs as Seattle did this year.

it destroys nothing, he has posted similar stuff before and that has been torn apart. It's way too long right now to respond to each line. he's a great poster but posting stats w/o context means absolutely nothing. It impresses folks that don't truly know the game but not someone that understands it.

The Giants defense was significantly better in the Super Bowl than it was in Week 17?

Were five or so starters in street clothes in Week 17? How did the defense get significantly better in five weeks?

Maybe they ate their spinach like Popeye.

Also, did "playoff magic Brady" throw 3 INTs against the Chargers the week before the Giants SB? I thought he doesn't throw INTs. Must have had a great team around him to throw 3 INTs in a playoff game and still win. The list of QBs that have won playoff games when throwing 3 INTs is probably very small. I believe Brady is a multiple entrant, however.

I don't know but they did, credit the coaches, credit the players, credit whoever but they turned it on in postseason and that's why they won.

He has a huge number of posts here and at Finheaven but he seems to not like the Pats boards much. Not sure what that means.

who said he doesn't throw INTs? show me the INts for TDs? or the INTs setting up tons of scores?

You know Peyton has a playoff win when throwing 3 INTs in a game, right? same amount of wins when throwing 3 INTs

You know what also is very small? the list of QBs to win games when being shut out, scoring 3 or scoring 8 pts in a playoff game.

Well in that same Chargers game, he threw a pick in the endzone in a goal-to-go situation so he took 3 or 7 points off the board for his team. Is that really much different than a pick-6?

Like I said earlier, funny how Brady wins in the eyes of many people now for the simple fact that he wasn't good enough and couldn't play well enough to get his team in this matchup. It's sort of the same arguments for Eli, he isn't good enough to get his team to the playoffs so he avoids racking up playoff losses. Maybe it's better to be inept after all.

but they won, right? you know Indy won on the road in a game they didn't score a TD, right?

Brady has led his team to MORE SBs, 2 more SBs to be exact and 2 more SB wins. This isn't Eli vs. Peyton, Brady wins more in the reg season and postseason.

now we bash Brady for not making a SB w/ terrible talent around him yet praise Peyton for losing w/ better talent than Brady has ever had?

This is one of the worst threads that has ever been created on TGG. Ridiculous. nyjunc gets insulted a lot and I usually defend him, but he sounds like a complete moron with this thread. Especially with the timing of it being made.

Peyton just won his FIFTH NFL MVP award, Offensive Player of the Year, Broke TD and Yardage records, all at the age of 37 and after having 4 neck fusion surgeries.

Yet junc has the balls to make this thread because he lost to a MUCH SUPERIOR Seattle Seahawks team? Denver looked awful yesterday, because they are a pretty bad team. Peyton elevates the team, but he couldn't do it all alone last night. Seattle did everything better. You watch that game and decide to make a thread about Peyton like this? Insanity.

Sorry the truth hurts, this isn't about stat MVP awards, it's about stepping up in the biggest games. Seattle was great but Denver was favored and they have the most talented offense in the league, to only score 8 garbage time pts was pathetic.

Peyton is an all time great but not the greatest, not even in the discussion.

I'm bashing Brady for playing a lousy game against Denver's mediocre D. Brady missed TWO easy TD passes in that game on what should have been simple deep balls to wide-open WRs. Terrible talent or not, the receivers got open for what could have been game-changing plays and Brady was unable to make those plays. Two weeks later, a 2nd year QB who stands at all of 5'11" was able to consistently burn the same Denver D. He didn't miss plays like Brady did.

Denver's mediocre D played great the first 2 games and they weren't terrible last night. Not great but if their O doesn't give up 9 pts and STs 7 pts they would have given the team a chance to compete.

Wilson has a lot more talent around him and the game wasn't in Denver- huge difference. NE's D didn't score 9 pts either. Wilson was excellent moving around, that's not a strength of Brady.

kaepernick had a much better game against Seattle than peyton, should this be a knock against him? that is the flawed logic you are using.

If we switch the QBs on Den and NE the Broncos still reach the SB(and might have actually competed) and NE doesn't make the playoffs.

Seattle was the much better team and they proved it. If Peyton could have overcome all of the obstacles and pulled off the win, then no doubt he would be the best of all-time. He was not able to pull it off though, and no one should fault him for running into that Seattle Buzz Saw. Brady, on the other hand, LOST TWICE to 2 much inferior Giants teams. It was embarrassing. Yet you can say to never compare the two again?

Denver's secondary is awful, they're missing players over their D, including Von Miller, who is one of the top 5 defensive players in the NFL. Look at all the excuses you are making for Brady. He played Denver earlier in the season and scored over 30 points. With the pressure on in a bigger game, Brady could not rise to the occasion. Brady is an all-time great despite his physical limitations, he should have found a way to take apart that Denver secondary even if he can't move around like Wilson. He just choked, plain and simple. Just using your own logic here...

I wasn't sure if you were trolling, but this line confirms it. You are insane if you believe this.

Hmmm. QBs who directed their teams to 8 or fewer points in a playoff game and still got a win?

    Tommy Thompson, 1948 Eagles
    Otto Graham, 1950 Browns
    Craig Morton, 1970 Cowboys
    Kordell Stewart, 1997 Steelers

The Seattle buzzsaw gave up 16 PPg at home in 2 close wins in the NFC playoffs, Peyton led his record setting O to 8 pts in garbage time.

Brady left the field in both of those SBs w/ leads, the D blew them, Peyton never gave his D a chance.

home vs. road, reg season vs. postseason- very different situations. Brady didn't play well but even at his worst on the road he led his O to double digit pts, right?

Manning has always had the better weapons around him, he has never ahd to try and win w/ Julian Edelman as his #1 WR, Edelman was a good Welker replacement and Welker is the 4th or 5th option for Manning in Denver.

I am sure there are more w/ 3 INTs(which includes Peyton and Brady).
