Geno needs all the reps he can get. We just need a vet that can step in when needed. Simms is not the kind of backup we need.

Get over the dog thing? Obviously you never had a man's best friend. Dirtbag Vick admitted to drowning, electrocuting, and hanging dogs that did not perform well. He had the females teeth removed with no anesthesia so they could be forcibly bred.

That is friggin sociopathic behavior. I have been a Jet fan for 34 years, but I cannot root in any way for this piece of shit.

Someone like him cannot be good for a locker room. This move would be 10. Times worse than Tebow.

Yes, get over it. They're dogs, not people.

Does that really make that much of a difference to you?

Yes, they're dogs, but If it were people he would be getting the death penalty. You have to be a sick and twisted individual to be involved in anything like that on any level. If you don't agree then I don't know what to say.

I don't care if Vick brought the VLT to NJ in his first year, IMO I still wouldn't want him on the team.

I really don't care to much if the guy is a scumbag, I don't root for the Jets because they have a bunch of boy scouts on the team. I'm sure there are several dirtbags on the team today. I root for them to be good at football and I think Vick is a better football player than Geno or any other FA QB.

He did his time, he seems to have realized what he did was wrong. Get the fuck over it. He didn't kill people like some other NFL players who continued to play and people never made half as much noise about.

If it were my dog, I'd get over it by curb stomping his sociopathic ass.

But go ahead condone that kind of behavior. Doooossch!

For the record I'd rather not have any of the human murdering people on the Jets either. My point was it's not like he got busted for smoking a little dope and did his time. He organized and ran a dog killing business.

One more time: He organized and ran a DOG KILLING business.

I'm not going to continue to go back and forth with you on this if you honestly think that Vick is a good person that you would want as a team mate.

But, Agree to disagree I guess, You must not own a dog.

This has Jets written all over it...But I am not sure if Idzik will do this. He may just like when he got Reed when he listened to Rex

Donte' Stallworth killed a human being while under the influence and got less time than Vick. People hunt other animals all the time but Vick kills some dogs and he's a "scumbag" give me a break.

You give me a break dude.. It's not like Stallworth got into his car and said

"Awww these people around me aren't driving as well as I'd like them to, So i'm going to kill them all." There is a very big difference between an accident while making a poor decision to be under the influence and to straight up end the life of other living things because they're not performing as well as you'd like them to.

You just lost a lot of respect points in my book. I know how little that matters to you but seriously,. This is low.

So are big game hunters "scumbags" too? If you can tell me a valid reason why hunting and killing deers/ducks etc isn't as bad a killing dogs I'll concede.

Their's obviously a huge difference between not giving a shit about something 10 years after the fact and condoning the behavior. I wouldn't expect you to get to far beyond OMGZ DEAD DOGS in your thought process though.

I never said Vick was a good person. Did you read what I wrote? I said I don't give a shit if he's scumbag. He also wouldn't be my team mate. From all I've heard he's a fine team mate though.

If you eat meat like cows chicken and pigs. Do you see how they butcher these animals? Are you a "scumbag" for eating these animals and are the butchers " scumbags" for how they torture and kill these animals? Please get the fuck off your high horse. I don't care if Vick killed some damn dogs. Id be more appalled had he killed some humans IE Stallworth. Can Vick help the Jets win? Yes he can. Then that's what matters. He paid his debt to society and it's time to move on.

I can't believe I'm even having to explain this.

While I don't condone hunting either, I do see it as an unfortunate necessity ( in some cases ie/ Population management and hunting for food ). Deer and animals in the wild are free to go about their business. There are very strict rules and regulations around when you can and can't hunt animals and what weapons and tools you can use. The animal also has a (although unfair) shot at getting away in that it lives in the wild and has the freedom of flight.

These dogs were bread and raised to kill other dogs. They were kept in cages and beat up and abused their entire lives to "toughen" them up. They were not given a chance to be nurtured or have any kind of relationship other then violence

Then when it didn't "win" by being forced to kill other animals of it's kind ( who were also raised in this manner ). He killed said dogs, not in a humane manner, But by drowning hanging and electrocuting.

If you honestly can't see a difference in these two things then you are a sick and twisted individual.

If your mother got killed by a drunk driver I'm sure you'd still think Vick was more of a dirtbag than the asshole who made the decision to drive drunk and accidentally kill her.

He didn't just kill dogs. He effing TORTURED them. When it was not necessary. The dog fighting thing is pretty shitty, and being a dog owner, I don't like it, but hey if that was his thing I kind of get it.

And if he euthanized the hurt dogs, or the ones he didn't need anymore, (or even shot them in the head) That wouldn't be so bad either.

But he went out of his way to torture them for his own sick twisted pleasure. How does that compare to hunting ducks?

I'm telling you, someone like him is not right in the head. And his actions are indefensible.

What Vick did was wrong. Hunting isn't a necessity either. You can't rationalize one over the other it's the same shit.

Did Vick eat the dogs because he was starving? Did vick kill the dogs because there were to many of them around and it was causing issues with the environment and local inhabitants?

No, He killed them because they weren't performing to his expectations.

You're basically saying that someone who killed someone in a war is just as bad of a person as the guy who walks to the local highschool and shoots up a bunch of teenagers...

Holy fuck i'm done with this conversation. You all enjoy this.

I frankly don't think Smith is significantly better than Simms. In fact I wonder what would happen is Simms got a bunch of reps and a playbook tuned to benefit his style of play.

If the Jets need a better backup than Simms, why don't they need a better starter than Smith?
