Melo played a really bad 1st quarter on both ends of the floor. Let Miami drives past him and forgot about Battier at times. Offensively has 3 turnovers and just out of sync. Heat up 7

With Shump out, Knicks have nobody who can guard Wade. Felton is bad, Prigioni is too small. THJ isn't a good defender and JR is on Lebron.

The "leave shooters wide open from 3 strategy" is not working for the Knicks today. Heat looked locked in and their defense is pestering NY too. Birdman has two blocks at the rim, Heat closing out aggressively forcing Knicks off their spot. And they did a wonderful job against Melo so far

Miami came out prepared and just out executing us. Getting whatever they want on offense.e

When Melo is this cold, well we have problems. Also Wade is feasting on Timmy's "D"

Knicks commit fouls on 4 straight possessions to end the 3rd Q. Down 6 heading into the 4th. I thought Miami was going to step on their throats that quarter but the Knicks held on.

MIA doing a great job frustrating Melo. That's difference, Melo hasn't shown up. He's gotten help from TIMMY and JR today, and even some from Pablo too.

Of course also, needs repeating, Miami absolutely took advantage of all the switching on D.

Knicks were close but an "illegal" screen on Tyson didn't let the Knicks cut it to 6.

    Carmelo shot below 50%
    Felton had a bad game
Too many unforced turnovers from Melo and the team
Oh and MIA was coming off an embarrassing loss to OKC

Can't beat the Heat like that. Limiting our turnovers is how we beat them

Knicks 4-4 on their 8 game home stand. Disappointing overall because they started 0-3. They've played better in 2014, but not better than the 8/7 seed. IF they want to advance past the first round, they obviously want to get to the 6 and a round is possible.

Probably could use more MWP, but his offense to defense to ration is THJ except opposite.

    So the Knicks FEB schedule:

    1st vsMIA - L
    3rd @MIL
    5th vs POR
    7th vsDEN
    9th @OKC
    12th vs SAC
    18th @MEM
    19th @NOP
    21st @ORL
    22nd @ATL
    24th vs DAL
    27th @MIA
    28th vs GS

So uhhh 12 games. To go .500 they need to win 6. On paper, I don't see 6 wins there. Hopefully I'm wrong. This month could really really really sink us to blow it all up mode with the trade deadline being 2/20. Knicks could really go 1-6 heading into the trade deadline eve. That's not even if they play terrible, that's if they play like they have been

    And also:

Lillard, Lawson, Thomas, Conley, Teague, Nelson, Curry are some PGs on those teams would play. (I think they're all healthy. Not sure about Conley and Teague now that I think about it) Then of course LBJ and KD as non PG. Millsap on ATL has been tearing it up. Anthony Davis on NOP has been on a tear too. So yeah, should be fun!

The every other day game thing going until 2/9 is cool. Makes the Knicks schedule really easy to keep up with. There's a break from the 12th-18th because that's All Star Weekend, aka the best AS game in major sports.

Gonna be busy all week, no time to watch these games

What sucks is that I can see 7 or 8 wins (MIL, DEN, SAC, DAL, GS, and pick 2 or 3 from that road stretch from the 18th-22nd) and that will jack them all the way up to the shitty 8 seed.

They've put themselves in such a hole that it's not even funny. Atlanta, Chicago, and Toronto could go in the tank like Boston did and the Knicks would still have to play above their heads to make up any ground.

Yeah, the thing is, there is no reward for the Knicks to not making the playoffs. They don't have a pick. If they trade for a pick, it's still not dependent on how the Knicks do. I guess what I'm saying is I want to see them win and making the playoffs, even if it's the 8 or 7 seed to get probably get gentlemen's swept by IND or MIA.

This certainly has all the makings of a truly miserable season. At least Tim Hardaway is shooting well!

TIMMY has been a bright spot. So has Tyler and Toure getting some time. Season went from playoffs to young guys reallll quick.

    That Bargnani trade

At least we can just blame everything on Dolan and have approx. 95% chance of being correct he messed something up

That pissed me off so much. We were coming back and just keep shooting ourselves in the foot. Some of those calls were terrible as well. I was ready to throw my remote through the TV.

Woodson says the plan is work Amare and KMART back into rotation and Tyler will see less minutes. Per the Knicks beat writers on twitter

Didn't watch any game, so no comments on it. Losing to the Bucks is unacceptable.

I think yesterday was the perfect reality check. We aren't a very good team. We aren't built for the playoffs, we never were. Even with the somewhat great, fun season we had last year, we weren't primed for the playoffs. Why? Defense. At the end of the day, defense wins championships. I have been to so many games, even in dark days, the Garden was always a fun place to be. Knicks will always be a fun team to watch, but that's all. We will have games packed with highlight reels and top plays, but that's all. If we do somehow sneak into the playoffs, we will likely be facing a Pacers or Heat team. May sound like I am giving up on the Knicks, but that is not the case. What this franchise has put us through is criminal.

Look at the stat line...36 points Melo, everyone else except JR under 10 points.

    Ridiculous
