This Hawks team is just so clinical, its so hard to find a weak spot. Given the dominance in the 1st half I doubt Denver will have enough time to work anything out. They need a prayer and hope that Seattle have some kind of melt down
They need to rely on their D and ST. Something that has definitely not been as strength all year. Maybe they surprise onside and hope for the best to start the half? Worked for NO
Wilson has been pretty solid , some nice 3rd down passes, on both FG drives he made some plays, should have been a first down on the run that was challenged, put one in the hands in the end zone on the other one, so he could be MVP. It is hard to pick one Defensive MVP so far, but one may jump out in the 2nd half. Peyton is still an all time great, but I think Soxx is right, you can't call him THE greatest after this one. Also , I never doubted the Hawks in this one, but they are putting on a defensive clinic on the scale of the 85 Bears level. And I truly believe they are that good.
Thats perfectly fine, Denver was never going to win this game. This is a brutal performance but if you want to say hes the best QB in the league, that's perfectly fine. No one was beating this Seattle defense, Brees didnt, Kaepernick didnt, Eli didnt, Brady wouldnt have, and Peyton wont either.
I'm very curious to see what adjustments Manning shows in the second half. A truly great QB should be able to "solve" a tough D, at least to some extend. To me Manning's place in history will be determined in a large part by his 2nd half results.
If SEA scores a TD to start the 2nd half, I'm calling game over. Offensively, DEN OL needs to do much better. Both tackles getting beat. Pressure PM and he can't move to avoid the rush (Although he tried twice) Defensively for Denver, get off the field on 3rd down. They've forced 0 punts..
If Peyton Manning doesn't lead his team to a TD on the 6th drive of the 9th game of the 2014 season, clearly he's not a great QB.
Im not, hes already solidified himself as one of the greatest QBs ever, but he will never be able to hold the title of the greatest ever after this game. The greatest QB of all time doesnt go out there and put together a half like that. Yes pressure caused mistakes, but lets not act like pressure isnt part of the game either. There a lot of QBs around this league who are under pressure all the time, look at Wilson last game, every down he had a man in his face, but he wasnt throwing a pick 6 was he? Lets see what the second half holds, 22 points is not a death sentence in the NFL. I want to see some fight from this broncos offense.
The amazing thing about the Seattle defense is that they do not try to out scheme or out smart you. They line up and dare you to just beat them and outplay them. That does not bode well for halftime adjustments.
