Chandler beat the packers in a SB? what SB was that? Chandler was a good QB, led a huge upset on the road in the NFC Title Game- when has Peyton ever done that?
Well Peyton rarely has had road playoff games. Using individual games as anytype of metric/judgement is silly. The overall body of work and Chris Chandler isn't on the same planet as Peyton...could care less about the Vikings win. You brought up Chandler and the Packers not me. Peyton didnt play Rex Grossman in the SB he played the Bears defense.
yeah, he's been busy losing home playoff games. Nowhere did I say Chandler was as good as Manning, just pointing out a little fact since you were bashing him. and Chandler started 1 road playoff games, the game he led a huge upset over Minny in the title game. Peyton has played 7 road games, he's 2-5 in those games. He played the Bears D knowing he didn't have to do much to win it, just don't turn it over. He led his O to 22 pts and did very little in that SB. That run was on D and the ground.
They also had to go through the Ravens(who had one of the best D's of the past 15 years) and the Patriots. It's impossible to minimize Peytons career no matter how much cherry picking you can come up with.
yep, a game he didn't lead his O to a TD in and against a terrible offensive team. The Patriots had Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney as Brady's main weapons. They shouldn't have made the playoffs. The '06 Colts had the easiest run to a SB I have seen in quite some time.
The Ravens defense was historically good in 2006. That's an awesome win on the road. You are clueless. The Pats couldnt beat an Eli led mediocre Giants team in the Super Bowl, twice- because their offense couldnt score any points. We could do this all day. Good QB's have bad days. All time greats have bad days. When you're that good- it looks worse. You have a bizarre way of rating football players, but you've already decided players legacies so there's no use in arguing. I dont care how many bad losses you might think Peyton has...the guy has carried teams on his back every season. If Peyton doesn't play well his team generally loses.
The Ravens D was excellent in 2006 no doubt it but their O was terrible. Indy's D held Bal to 6 pts, even against the best D's you should be able to score 7 and considering Ind forced 4 TOs it wasn't too tough. Both SBs the Pats O gave their D leads very late, both times the D couldn't hold it just like their first 2 SBs w/ Brady except in those Sbs they left Brady enough time to rescue them. carried teams on his back:rofl2: he had 3 TDs and 7 INts in his lone SB run, his D allowed 12.8 PPG in that run, MUCH less than any run NE made but yeah he has CARRIED them! actually he has, it's why he only has 1 SB win when he should have 4-5.
http://grantland.com/features/the-official-super-bowl-preview/ Long read, but touches upon a bunch of important things we have all been mentioning. The weather part was really interesting to me because they way Bill put it was (paraphrasing): If cold or bad weather is considered a disadvantage for DEN, wouldn't playing this SB in a dome or warm weather actually be considered an advantage for DEN? If the SB holds without wind/precipitations, it could be said this location actually offered a more fair SB than one in the dome since it takes away Denver's slight advantage in perfect weather. He picks Seattle to win the SB. Mentions injuries as key thing, SEA is entering the game with a roster that looks much healthier than Denver as a key point. Bill is a fan of DVOA, so to transition to that, here is football outsiders preview: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/game-previews/2014/super-bowl-xlviii-preview FO also picks Seattle to win. ESPN picks, http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2013/story/_/id/10373906/super-bowl-xlviii-espn-predictions-big-game 25/48 people pick the Seahawks. Meaning 23/48 pick the Broncos. Makes sense, Vegas, FO mentions, has this as a really close contested battle. The trend, if you buy into it, points that it's actually rare for historically good offenses to win a SB. Even, if 3 of the best offenses ever are in the same playoffs (2011 playoffs with GB, NO and NE). And if you're a fan of Nate Silver, he has the Seahawks. http://blogs.seattletimes.com/seaha...-silver-picks-seahawks-madden-25-has-broncos/ If you're a fan of the video game Madden, they have the Broncos. (also from above link)
WIll be interesting to see how the game is officiated. More penalties gives Denver the edge....let them play obviously favors Seattle. Seattle's defense is really, really good. This is probably the best defense to make the Super Bowl since the 2000 Ravens.
I dont like the light grey seats at metlife, very easy to notice empty seats on TV...They should have made them black or something
I'm afraid of the refs deciding this game late with a bad flag. All the NFL has heard for 2+ weeks is pick plays and Seattle defense gets away with stuff.
I think that makes it harder to tell, it was much easier w/ the old red seats but what could they do? make blue and green seats? they had to go grey
