No thanks. Possibly could be a larger distraction than he is worth. No matter where he goes people are going to treat him differently and not necessarily in a good way which could cause problems in the locker room.

On the flip side we don't really have a d-bag like Incognito so he might fit in okay with our group.

If he was the best in the game at his position or something and we could be reasonably sure there wouldn't be drama and distraction as a result I would be all for it...but he's not and we can't be so I would pass.

the media doesnt have the same inside scoop on the jets as in the past and things are relatively quiet around the lockerroom. i dont think martin would change that. if hed be an upgrade at all, and im not familiar with his play so im not sure but if hes a good player than it seems a lockeroom like the jets and a head coach like rex is one he could do well with.

I think he deserves a chance. As for being a distraction it's an overused word. Everything is a distraction. What about Rex then with all his bragging and predictions, etc. He's not actually a great OL but he's ok as a player. So if he does come to the Jets give the guy a chance. I can see maybe going to the Chargers. They were willing to draft Teo who was the big distraction one year ago. And maybe their locker room doesn't have any toxic personalities like Richie. Basically pro sports learned a lot from this situation and hopefully the atmosphere in the locker rooms will improve.

I would take him on this team. Who cares about his troubles in Miami, that obviously was a toxic environment anyway. Some people react to different situations differently. He just needs comraderie to be successful. If the Jets organization is right for that, then bring him in.

There is a part of Collision Low Crossers where it talks about how Rex Ryan punished players who couldn't take a joke. I'll try to post it later.

Anyways, I'm not trying to say anything about Rex here...rather that I don't think this guy is cut out for NFL locker rooms

I'd rather have Richie Incognito. I think Martin is a bitch.

I respect your football opinions, but I disagree here. I don't necessarily think Martin is a bitch, but even if he is, that doesn't mean he can't be a good Offensive Linemen in this league.

Incognito on the other hand...ugh.. not the time of person I would want involved in my operation. It's especially troubling because he was popular in Miami's locker room. He's the team leader? no wonder they had a locker room fiasco and choked down the stretch.

Its pretty much a lock he goes to the Colts. Colts need to fix the line and Martin and Andrew Luck are very close.

I wouldn't take Martin but not on account of the bullying scandal.

At the end of the day he was a 2nd round draft pick who wasn't playing all that well. He deserves another shot but probably as a backup.

Bitch (n): people who rush to damning conclusions without consideration outside of one's own preference rationalization.

I don't know if I would classify him as a "bitch" but I definitely question his mental toughness. Incognito may have been a bully but someone with the mental toughness to either not let it bother them or stand up to him wouldn't have reacted the way he did. You factor he'd be playing in NYC for the most scrutinized team in the league and I'm not so sure he would be able to handle the pressure.

If anything he's going to be under additional pressure coming into this year after all the drama and taking a year off and everything. If he has any smarts at all he'll go to a team that isn't under the microscope or where there are so many issues that if he's not playing well it won't really be all that noticed (like Jacksonville or something).

Plus, the fact that people think he's a bitch and have signs saying he sits when he pees makes me not want him. We're already a pretty easy target for ridicule, no need to give people more ammunition.

Like I said: If he was the best player at his position you can maybe make those other sacrifices for his play and he may be an upgrade but how much of an upgrade? From "crap" to "meh" doesn't really do much for me.

I wouldn't want Incognito, it's just I'd rather him than Martin.

So which previous duplicate account are you?

I voted yes because we need OL help, but he really was terrible in Miami.

Living in Miami for 20+ years, I have A LOT of good friends that are Dolphins fans. Before all this happened, they used to HATE him simply because he sucked. And he really did. Watching him in games, he was getting burned left and right. We do need help, so any form will do, but we really need guys who can play the position well. If he comes cheap, I wouldn't mind having him as a backup. Good depth
