You keep your Qb until you have a better one? Did I miss us getting a better QB?

Mark has four playoff wins that should earn you some slack. At least more than Gabbert, Weeden and whatever shit show you mentioned.

Sanchez has earned the right to compete he will not be the first QB to get better the second half of his career. In fact his mistakes are all fixable.

Hey we have Geno now he has lit the world on fire. The funny part is the Sanchez haters you use the same line to defend Geno.

The point is that we had talent. What other QB's have is irrelevant and besides how many QB's had the best oline, the best run game and the best defense at the same time? Most QB's have 1 or 2 many don't even have 1.

You don't pay a QB the amount that he's owed just to "compete". Let's cut him and bring in a vet to be a safety net in case Geno sucks next year. Bottomline is that it's time to move on from Sanchez. Deal with it.

i disagree, i think frenbar is one of the funnier and more entertaining things that happens in this thread. yes he has said it before, but so has everyone else in this thread, at least 100 times for a number of us.

he will saunter in every once in awhile, not everyday, not every couple days. he will come by maybe once a week and just completely ignore everything that is going on and let you know that sancho sucks. usually (although this previous post does not fit) in a pretty humorous way.

i know i chuckle everytime i see one of his posts. and he never gets in any kind of debate or blah blah blah, he simple swoops in tells us what he really thinks and then leaves back into the dark of the night. its really beautiful, i wish i had his self control and didnt get sucked into the sancho vortex.

I'm not following your logic. Are you saying he hasn't had the offensive skill position players these QBs have had or overall teams these guys have had? Because I think it could be argued 2009 and 2010 Jets minus the QB position had decent offensive skill position players, but the OL, ST, D, and coaching talent were very very good, much better than just decent. So are you saying the decent talent early in his career is just offensive skill positions or overall team?

If it's the first, there's a few missing steps in your logic. If it's the second, it's wrong if we take decent to mean average.

He's never had the talent around him on offense that those other guys have had. 2009 was decent, 2010 was good but these other guys have had top 10 weapons.

Put Mark on Cincy now and they are not 0-3 in postseason, put him on dallas and they win playoff games, put him on NYG '07/'11 and they still win 2 SBs, etc...

I can't guarantee it but I'm extremely confident. The difference btw NYG '07/'11 and NYJ '09/'10 in title games wasn't the QB.

2007 NYG D holds GB to 17 pts, picks off Favre to set up GW FG.
2011 NYG STs forces 2 fumbled/muffed punts setting up 10 pts including GW FG. NYG only scored 10 pts in the last 3 qtrs. and both set up by STs TOs.

In the SB the D did a great job against 2 great offenses, O only scored 17 and 19 pts. In our playoff win on the ROAD at NE mark led us to 28 pts.

Pretty sure the game plan that Patriots employed for Eli Manning would be completely different than the game plan they would use for Mark Sanchez.. They are two completely different QB's... There is no telling how the game would have played out...

when they did have a chance to gameplan for mark at home w/ a bye they allowed 28 pts and mark had a great game. Didn't need a ball to stick to a helmet or Welker to drop a pass.

Hard to argue this he sucked in December 2011 and 2012. Mark was hurt in 2011 and 2012 was trying to hard. No excuses but the total body of work with Mark is decent but inconsistent. That is what we drafted a young QB with little college experience.

He only played four years not 20 and look good in preseason. But he threw a pick in preseason on a screen. I see it in that he bounced back and played great that was a step up from Mark.

Marks bad games were really bad seguing his numbers downward. He performances in the 12 wins in 2010 were pretty damn good. The problem is in alot of the losses he was really bad.

He has done nothing on the field to get the fans hatred and most of the hate are from people that hated him day 1. The funny parts the people that hated him day 1 support Geno who had one of the worst rookie seasons on record.

The media is calling, They want all of their sheep to come home.

How about we compare that to the play where Holmes injured himself. He basically handed the ball off to the defender as soon as was in pain. He didn't care 1 bit about possession of the ball as soon as he was injured he lost all interest in the team and the win. That moment I lost a lot of respect for Holmes as a football player.

I can't say the same for Sanchez being incredibly unlucky on a play where he tried to do the right thing for the team. ( Was a broken play and he tried not to lose yards by sliding at the line of scrimmage ). There were a lot of things that needed to go wrong for that play to get as much attention as it did.

Was it upsetting to me as a Jets fan, Yes. Does that one play justify the hatred and dismissal of a young QB with potential to help the team? no.

I had no respect for Holmes before that play, certainly none after. He is the worst signing of the Tannenbaum era. Pathetic. A slot #3 WR paid like a #1 WR, who gave almost 0 effort. Terrible.

People make too big of a deal about the Butt Fumble too. It was an accident. Move on. No doubt it was a bad play, but definitely being blown out of proportion. If you want to point to bad Mark, go to the Titans game. I can't disagree with anyone if they jumped off him that night. He clearly gave up trying. He was just tossing it up. It was awful.

See I'm not so sure how you jump from offensive talent to winning games. The Dallas defense doesn't get better (below average 4/5 years Sanchez has been in the league) because Sanchez joins those teams. The coaching doesn't get better, the play calling doesn't get better, and the ST doesn't get better.

I think it's reasonable to say he could have put up better stats, but I'm not too sure you can say he would win more for Dallas or Ravens scenario.

The Ravens had a really food D, but the first 5 years of Flacco's career, he had very low INT %s, something Sanchez has struggled with. I think that's more of the nature of the QBs than just the talent around them. So again, I don't think you can say he wins as much as Flacco. I think he puts up more TDs than Flacco does, but he also puts up more INTs in his 5 hypothetical years as BAL QB. I don't know how that would then lead to making a determination on wins and losses.

I'm not even sure about the Giants scenario. In 2011 Eli was playing at a high but erratic level. I don't think Sanchez matches that or gets the breaks Eli does to win as many games. I think his stats improve with better offensive skill players, but again I don't think that means it automatically helps the team win. Sanchez's stats may improve, but the Dallas D still stinks and etc.

Ohh I see. I'm replacing Mark for seasons, are you only replacing him for one or two games? I think it's more accurate in a hypothetical to switch Mark for a whole season, not just a game here or there

Holmes tore his foot in half for gods sakes. He sustained one of the worst lisfranc injuries ever reported. So I'm not gonna hold it against him if he gave up the ball. Secondly the call was blown, he gave himself up and the refs blew it.

Yes because that 2010 Pats team was the same as the 2011 Pats or the 2007 Pats team :breakdance:

And of course the game where they let up 28 also gave the ball inside the Pats own 40 twice leading to 14 points include the safety dropping a snap on ST close to two minutes left in the half turning 7-3 to 14-3.

Your logic doesn't hold. You can't pick his best game then say he has that best game so the Giants still win. You could do that with every QB.

but the D does get better b/c they wouldn't have a choker at QB and they'd score more points. In their 3 playoff losses w/ Romo they averaged 11 PPG.

If mark '09/'10 was on bal in those years they make a SB one of those 2 years. Flacco was not good in postseason early in his career. In the 4 playoff games in those 2 years he had 4 INts which is more than mark in his 6. They won a game where he completed 4 passes, the Jets never did that w/ Mark. Their D allowed 11 PPg in the playoff wins those 2 years.

NYG won 9 games in 2011 in a weak division, it wouldn't have been hard for mark to win 9. he won 8 w/ less talent in a tougher division at the top.

the 2010 Pats were better than the 2011 Pats but not 2007 and either way they had to go to NE while NE had a bye. To that point NE had lost one home playoff game and never had lost a div rd game at home(still haven't outside of the Jet game).

So what? they shouldn't have taken advantage on the fake punt? they didn't get a point off the INT as the K missed a chip shot FG and they still scored 28.

The point is mark was good enough to win big w/, his play is a big reason(not the biggest) why we won 4 playoff games but no on wants to give him any credit.

This...and it fair to say that Idzik falls in the category of GM od a QB needy team.
