I think his absence will effect us in two areas. 1. five extra fouls at the Center position. 2. He could bang with other big bodies where Christmas and Keita are not bangers. Don't get me wrong Christmas can bang but that is not his best game. With space he is a better shot blocker. I think he is much like A. Onaku in that his best years will be years 3 and 4 or if he can get a redshirt waiver years 4 and 5. SU has a center redshirting this year already. So we have guys for the future at that position.
I thought he would stay. This is his team this year and he is showing it consistently. His jumper has been money and teams need guys like him. IMO Fair has a chance to be a pro but he needs to get drafted by the right team. He really needs to be a first round pick for some security on a roster. Kris Joseph is a good example of a guy with skills but no roster security. He was a second round pick so it cost Boston nothing to cut him. After that he never really got another fair shot.
Up by double digits all game and now down by 1. Ooooof. Although to be quite honest I wouldn't mind losing a game or 2 soon before the tourney. _
'Nova should've beat Marquette in OT except for a BS charge call on the game winner. They wound up winning in OT so no harm but still, added stress. Will be interesting to see where they wind up in the rankings come Monday.
Butler is really bad. They play at Creighton Tuesday night...if they can win there, I'll be impressed.
Junc, the reason UNC isn't getting fouls called is because they take more 2-point jump shots than any team in the nation.
They have been attacking the rim every game, they would be getting killed at the basket w/ no call then see a touch foul on the other end. Do they take some jumpers? of course but they have been attacking the rim. Nice win last night keeping the streak alive. If they can play w/ that type of intensity and hustle they will have a chance. Softer part of sched is coming up so they have a chance to get this season back on track.
59.1% of their shots are 2-pt jumpers. No other team takes more than 47.5% of their shots from there. http://hoop-math.com/leader_o2014.php
I question those #s and a 2 pt jumper could be from 2-3 feet away, doesn't mean they aren't getting fouled. I hate these stat sites w/o any context.
Former Louisville forward Chane Behanan is headed to Colorado State. The 6-foot-6 junior power forward, who was dismissed from the Cardinals in late December, told ESPN that he will transfer to Colorado State and finish his career under Rams coach Larry Eustachy. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bas...360161/chane-behanan-join-colorado-state-rams
I knew you would immediately attack the source and say that the stats are wrong. To them, there are 3 kinds of shots, shots at the rim, shots that are 2-point jumpers, and shots that are threes. 21.3% of shots come at the rim (2nd fewest) 59.1% of shots are 2-pt jumpers (by far the most in the nation) 19.7% of shots are 3-pt field goals (2nd fewest) That adds up to 100% (well, 100.1% due to rounding). You've always complained about the referees, and your reasoning was because they take so few threes. Well, I'm telling you the stats show they take a lot of mid-range jump shots, and that they don't go to the rim as much as they should. Are you saying that they grade the shots differently for North Carolina than they do for every other team?
I am not saying they are wrong but I have a hard time believing them. what constitutes a 2 pt shot? any shot not at the rim but inside 3? I don't like all these stat sites that don't go in depth on each team, it looks nice at a website but what does it really tell us?
Dude really? You've never seen the "scattershot" that shows where shots are taken from? Shots at or near the rim are not 2 point shots. Common sense in those scatter shots tell you what a 2 point shot is. Not believing these stats in intentionally being obtuse. Nobody is out the get anyone, no conspiracies. It's just an objective look at the shot distribution. _
then I know the info is wrong if that is the case, you think Carolina is taking 10-15 footers all game long? that's not Carolina basketball. Watch the games, I can't stand these blind stat sites.
